I am still here, we have sunshine and 10.5 degrees, so the chickens are outside enjoying a dustbath... hoping they give me an egg soon as we haven't had one in 2 month since they started moulting... Very annoying as I don't want to buy eggs to make pies and baking. I am enjoying a well earned few days off from work, there is plenty to be done round here... Nordic pine xmas tree being delivered tonight, excited muchly, our first xmas with a real tree. I am making pork en croute for the first time also and have had some great news regarding a PPI claim... letter came today they have offered me just over 1k... I'm planning on sorting a gas fire for the living room and rest on decorating this house a bit, Kids on the other hand have got wind (snooping on my celebratory phone call to my mum) and now have worked out that we should put it toward going on holiday.... Uhh Nooo!!! being a kid is a holiday every day isn't it!!!:rotfl:

    I am here too :)

Desperately hoping some elves will sneak in and tidy/clean my house before Xmas ;)

We seem to be too busy to get much done at the moment, making the most of being able to get out and about before the full on winter depression kicks in...

Only just over two weeks to go until christmas so I have plenty to get done between now and then, plus not much spare time to do it

The last few years winter preps are still serving us well so not really much to do! I do need to make a blind for the bathroom but that has needed doing for 3 years so far and still not done :D

The clear film is still on the back door from last year :D so nothing to do there... I do want to clear the patio and garden of bits and bobs so the kids can play out if we get snow :) I might make that a priority this week.

    Keep snuggly everyone :)

I have put some reflective foil -bought from L*dl for £4.99 behind most of my radiators- think this has helped.

The hatch to the attic has been open since Saturday when we got all the dec's down, and I wanted to sort through and put the empty boxes back. It's closed now and all decorations are in place. I'm sure the glow of the lights is making the house feel "warmer"- or it my imagination?

I have dug out one of those windscreen foil rolls-which we also bought at L*dl-but quite a few years ago, it's been in the shed since last year, now it's in the boot, waiting for bad frost.
I set off to work 4 days a week at 7.45am, so I don't want to be using a credit card to scrape the screen then!!!

Does anyone get home from work, when it's dark and put their PJ's on? Much more comfy!:rotfl:

I'm still here, admittedly mainly lurking about and reading what everyone else is doing rather than posting as on a mobile.

I get in and put PJ's on, I always used to think this was odd behaviour, but have done it in the winter for a couple of years now....and have to say I love it.!

Laid up a bit after an Op so what isn't organised now is tough. I will be able to drive by the back end of this week so will have to wizz out and do xmas shopping (whole plan went pete-tong being in hosp). Not one pressie bought yet!!

Will spend this week doing the lists of stuff I need and work out menus etc and get or prepare the week after. Ironically have lots of time as can't work at the moment but can't do much...typical. I have it in my head to make everyone mince pies as off , but may have to wait a few days to be able to do it due to arm out of action.

I can't really think of anything I haven't got in that I may need over the winter other than fuses for the fuse box but flipping shops here never have them in.

I may not need to use any lighting this year, as all the houses here have so many lights on them!! It's like national lampoons xmas vacation here....lol.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

I know warm and comfy, I don't usually get home from work until 6pm, but on a Monday, when I don't work I'm in my PJ's by 4pm too!!
Usually on a Monday I do loads of housework in the morning, so I keep them on 'till nearly lunch time, whilst I'm scrubbing bathroom, hovering, and general cleaning. Then have a shower, and put PJ's in wash!

My married daughter & grand daughter have PJ days on Sunday's in Winter!:T

Oh we have PJ days too! We don't often get the opportunity but when we do, it is one of life's great luxuries!

It is lovely to just laze around in PJs nibbling on good food and watching movies all day :D

:) I have that trouble although TU range from Sainsburys are longer, I find...

I've had some foam draught proofing window tape for weeks. To replace the stuff on the bedroom windows. Still haven't actually done it :o might do it today.

Other than that, we're done, I think. Just had some bills and we used less gas and electricity than same period in 2012, so account is a bit in credit! :T

My kiddies didn't take pjs off last Sat until 5pm when I ran them a bath :D but DD did have a fairy dress on over hers :D

It's frosty here today, it feels really damp as well and my garden floor (?ground) seems to be permanently wet when I go outside to clean up after the dogs. My laminate floor really needs scrubbing today to get rid of all the prints.

I remember that when I walked to school when I was a kid it always seemed to be bright and frosty in winter but it seems like we have less of those mornings nowadays or maybe I'm just remembering wrongly.

I do that. I buy black PJ bottoms so if I have to go outside to the recycling it looks more like tracksuit bottoms than nightwear.:D
