I have the same problem from weight gain. I have 1 pair decent work trousers, a few work tops, 3 jumpers, no jeans (half a stone off would give me back 2 pairs!) and a couple of cardigans.

My wardrobe is very minimal which is my own fault as I have lots of lovely clothes which I could wear if I only lost 2 stone.

Best of luck with the BC treatment. Sending lots of ++++ (positive) thoughts your way :)

Thanks for your good wishes .
I too have a back catalogue of jeans:(

((( hugs ))) best wishes for the treatment - I've been there too, and in December I complete the five years of tablets post-treatment.. It was ok, it's doable. Still two stone heavier than when the journey began though.

I work in a hot and grubby environment so wear a t-shirt and jogging bottoms most days, with a fleece jacket to throw on if I have to go outside. At home, in the garden or doing the animals I just layer fleeces over polo necks, my washing gets hung up indoors if I can't dry it on the line so much as I love those heavy ribbed polo necks, I don't wear anything that takes ages to dry. Slipper-boots indoors, trainers for work, wellies outside and Uggs with leggings for 'best', all have room for thick socks. My usual coat is a padded waterproof Musto 3/4 length which will fit all my layers underneath, or just a sleeveless gilet if it's not raining. And hats and scarves and gloves as needed.... even indoors, where it's 11.9 degrees right now, brrr!

Well done on your recovery xx Is it the actual tablets which cause weight gain? Please say no :D

Unfortunately it needs to be used as a bedroom as although we supposedly have a 4 bedroom home, the 4th bedroom is 6 x 8 ft so not really much use. This spare room houses all our Dvd's, cd's, books and my DD cross trainer.

Our room is certainly cold enough to store things like onions and potatoes in, I can't see DH complaining too much if he comes home and they are hanging from the ceiling would he :rotfl: Trouble with the room is it has a vaulted ceiling and a velux window in the roof which we have covered with a window quilt but it is just so cold in there, especially the floor

first thing i'd do, money permitting is go into the garage and stuff as much insulation into the ceiling of the garage (floor of the bedroom) as you can

next thing i would do is put some thick underlay under your carpet

if that's not enough, you can get ceiling fans that are reversible so they blow warm air back down again, leaving it on part of the time to blow the warm air that is floating all the way up into the rafter space would probably be cheaper than turning up the heat super high however a cheap, simple and quick fix could be to hang up some hangings across the ceiling space, sorta tentish like, call it arabian style if you like :rotfl: this would help keep some of the warm air in your space rather than up at the very tall ceiling

What a splendid idea! Our local takeaway curry shop has a very smart tented ceiling with many different lengths of decorated cloth radiating from a central point in the ceiling - you could fill it with insulation maybe and it would be a stunning feature.

You could have been describing my back door, same issue, only no need to open it during the evening... I thought about having the door curtain and windows one opening back towards thewindow side of the. Door if you know what I mean, my rad is under the windows, then work top starts at the end of the sill if that makes sense...
today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

If it's any help we have made our garage into a room, and OH put some sort of polystyrene boards on the floor, then boards, then underlay then carpet. It's a cosy room with the radiator.

I think we share the same kitchen :D

I am going to look at getting something up at the window so it keeps the heat from escaping so am going to look in the charity shops today and see if I can find any curtains or material to make some, the house was obviously designed by a man! :rotfl:

I would love to do that with the garage but DH has a motorbike which lives in there and he won't put it anywhere else (can't blame him really) and we had a quote when the room was built above the garage to have the garage converted into a room but it was going to cost approximately £3,000

It would be lovely to have it as a room rather than a waste of space, do many people still use their garages for cars?

We had a little room about 4 x4 foot off the hall, by the front door, which I think would have been a cloak type room, we originally made it into a tiny computer room about 15 years ago, but it just became too small, and OH was doing more computer work for work but at home.
This tiny room was backed against the garage, so we knocked through, made the hole into a square arch, and made the 4 x4 room into the "corridor" to get to the "garage" it now has coats one side and a skinny tall book case on the other, and we walk through to get to the "snug".
The original door into the tiny room stayed in the hall, then we converted the garage with insulation & plasterboard into a room, had it plastered & a radiator, luckily the original window was in excellent condition & in the right place.
The up and over garage door stayed, so from the outside of the house it looks like we still have a garage, an insulated plaster board wall was built behind the garage door.

It has become our "snug" a desk each with laptop/computer, TV on the wall, and a small 2 seater settee.

Kids are grown up and gone now (well almost!) so we spend most evenings in there, I think with the heat off the electrical equipment and a small radiator it makes the room really cosy!!!

Also it means that if the rest of the house if fairly tidy, and this room is a bit of a tip, if someone calls I just close the door from the hall into the corridor room, and no one goes there!
One of the best things we did.

    Love it!!
