Wow, have just finished reading this thread from beginning to end! So thought I would now say hi!! You have all been very busy, but have inspired me to get sorted as we have such drafty windows it gets really chilly in this house. All but two curtains now fleece lined, hopefully get last two sorted today, all family sorted for coats, shoes, hats, scarves, vests etc just need some socks for me! Then to sort out the back of the radiators, have only had them on a handful of times so far this year, definitely chillier the last couple of mornings though!!

Clear blue skies here today x
  • We had some of the white stuff this morning - enough to have to get up early and clear the car of it. Hopefully that's it for a while, it was cold!
  • Hi everyone, new poster here looking for some advice please. I have no radiator in my kitchen, so bought an electric convector heater. It has a frost protection setting on it, can anyone explain how this works? Should I leave the heater on frost protection setting overnight or on low so that it clicks on and off?

Ohhhh thanks confuzzled I may brave town at some point in the next couple of weeks  so nice to have something a bit different to do!

Very cold here - but no snow :T (someone bet me £10 it would snow last night - but the didn't pay up when it didn't:()

Winter prep is behind schedule :o

Phoned re boiler service last week & apparently contract has renewed (didn't get the letter) & can't get a service in the evenings for weeks :(

Daytime is 8 - 5:30 (honestly, they must surely be able to whittle it down to either AM or PM - they must give their engineers a list) - and I don't have any days off until Christmas (when they won't be doing them)

Realised the other day that I've opened my last pack of loo rolls  so will have to get them stocked up!

Dog & cats all fine for everything until at least March :o so they'll be absolutely fine if we're snowed in

Me ..... well I really need to do a big food shop and stock up on stuff that could be done on the hob / camping stove if needed (soups etc) ....

    Roll on payday here too!

i have one of those too and i check mine a few times a day despite having it for a few years now :rotfl:

currently at 16.8 and 60% humidity, oddly now i'm not feeling cold but when it was 18c earlier (we were baking) i felt sooo cold

thus why i bought it, so i can tell myself, nope it's just you or goodness it's not just me or my daughter being wimps :p
