cornishchick - depending on the size of the area, a hairdryer is often good at drying out quickly. Or, a hot water bottle placed over the mattress with an absorbent cloth placed between them, helps too - albeit takes longer though and you need to keep changing cloths.
Would it help to have an additional mattress protector - one under the other?
