Where did you get the material for the door curtains??
Not got any yet, off to look tomorrow, unless you've got some ideas!
I've looked in CS for ages for some heavy fabric to recycle, but all too small. If I can't find what I want at a decent price, it will be cheap flannelette sheets with a bit of proper fabric as a trim (so they look less like sheets!) We live in a draughty 30s semi, original windows and doors, easterly wind hits the front corner of the house so it cools down very fast. Getting a runner for the hall, making said curtains and some sausage dogs, hopefully won't be too bad this time. Last few winters we've had ice on the inside of the windows - not had that for over 20 years!

you could buy a pair of curtains from a cs and sew together bottom to top iykwim to make them long enough, as you prob only need one curtain for door, may be warmer than sheet xOne day I will live in a cabin in the woods0 -

just thought i'd let everyone know,i was in poundstretchers today and i found full sized hot water bottles (NO Cover) for £1.99 each. they also had mini hotwater bottlews WITH covers in different coloured, looked like faux suede in pink or purple leopard print and i think there was a plainer beige one those were £2.99
we picked up two of the full sized ones for replacements when our current ones die, we'll still have the covers from the one's we're using so we didn't need covers. i didn't see any covers available either but you can always wrap them in a tea towel til you can get a cover. my local doesn't normally carry these so if you're needing them and see them i'd buy them now as they may not carry them all year round0 -

Cut the sleeves off, sewed the end up and popped the hot tie in through the cuff end, if that makes sense...today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.
Living on my memories, making new ones.

Bargain kids fleeces here - 70% off some of them and still got good range of sizes! I have bought the kids ones before and they are great quality, wash well and last.

we have a 10 cm round air intake hole in the floor next to our stove. We won`t need to use the wood pellet stove until christmas so I made a beanbag type weight to go over the vent. This will be removed when we light the stove. It took 10 minutes and I used spare material from a dark brushed cotton shirt I had made for dh. I had a bag of small pvc beads, previously bought to weight a hm knitting shaun the sheep (alan dart pattern) these have been left over for 3 years. I made a quick bag and poured them in, then made a small bag for over that bag, I used smaller stitches. It is really effective, particularly as I have adjusted the window vents to compensate. We have mechanical ventilation and an air tight house, so need some air intake to keep it nice and fresh, hence the 2 open window vents
no update about the 5-8th. Still 80% yes and 20% no. I have my fingers crossed that it doesn`t happen0
