H0me B@rgains usually have tinned tomatoes at 29p each or 4 for £1, whole or chopped. S@ainsbury have their standard soups at 2 for £1, usually 65p each. HTH.
Car's had its MOT, service next week, need to do car boxes, clean thoroughly and buy new car mats, and a few other bits.
I've got an hour or two today when I don't have to rush around after people, so I'm going to go through my winter list properly to see what I can crack on with this weekend.

My Lakeland airer has arrived and it's raining, so it is already set up and hopefully drying my washing.
Pollys
thanks for mentioning the lakeland airer, i ordered one years ago and they had a huge delay so i cancelled it and got a refund, it was a bit of a luxury at the old flat as i had a good drying system there already
however at this new flat i don't and i think it's worth the money as the time savings and gentle room heating should more than make up for the cost of it in the long run so i decided to order one
just ordered it, no mention of a backlog so i should have it in a week, looking forward to it :T0 -
where are you ordering pet food from? Cat is a fussy beggar and only really likes purina dry cat food, I bought it last from zooplus - in bulk, but are there any better places? - I've just looked and they don't seem any where near as good value as last time - must have been a deal on at the time.

Can anyone recommend a good airer (not heated, preferrably not expensive). Need something for when washing needs to be dried inside during the winter months. May try combining with the dehumidifier as well see how that works, but am going to try and use the dehumidifier a LOT less this year. We had this running about 16 hours a day for most of the Autumn/winter this was an extra 3.5kwh per day approx £73 between October and March. The one I have does not have a humidity level setting on it so runs continuously. Due to home improvements and other changes at home I don't think it will be needed full time just when washing is being dried inside and when its raining heavily and there are wet dogs, shoes and coats etc in the house.0

I have sent you a private message. I am sure your dog's problem will clear up immediately if you switch to a raw food diet. The vets recommended diets are just about the worst thing for dogs as they are mostly wheat based. Sadly, as I understand it, vets are taught nutrition by pet food companies but lots of vets are now seeing the benefits of raw.0 -
Hello,
About drying clothes in the winter. I have a big kitchen maid and it's great for drying clothes, and it looks good as well (Victorian/cottage look).0 -

i've had a few pulley's in the past and i agree they are fantastic for drying clothing, i have a half landing on my staircase, if i owned the flat i'm in now i would install one in the stairwell and load it from the half landing as in summer you can really feel the heat when you walk up the stairs and the ceiling is so high we would never feel the clothes touching our heads when we walked underneath, alas i'm in rented and the landlord wants nothing of it0 -

Unfortunately not suitable for my tiny modern semi, with kitchen smaller than my under stairs cupboard.0 -
Rigged my fleece curtain to close off the bath alcove in my bedroom. Big difference, warmer for a start but also, less condensation on the bedroom window in the morning, the alcove is the damp area, I left the mini-dehumidifier on in there whilst I was at work (9hrs) and it feels dry in there again now (and that's after I showered last night).

Autumn clean in progress - today I tackled the kitchen. Swept huge amounts of fluff and gubbins out from behind the tumbledrier (found a conker or it might once have been an apple), washed all the tiles, scrubbed work-surfaces, put away kitchen equipment that isn't often used, scrubbed out the cutlery drawer and utensil pots, and went over everything with citrus-scented wipes. Later I'll run the WM and dishwasher on 'clean' mode to clear out any residue. Also started on the bathroom cabinets - everything's so stuffed in there that we couldn't find anything useful in a hurry anyway. Cleaned my desk as well; did all the laundry and washing-up. Bit annoyed that I'm finding stepdaughter's bits and pieces all over the place - they can just go in a bag and be dumped in her bedroom. Bought a new ironing board cover yesterday so once I move 200 books I'll have space in the bedroom to actually do some ironing.
The last 25lbs of apples picked to stew down. I reckon apple pie is a state of mind.
I would feel virtuous but actually I'm doing the housework because I told myself if I didn't I'd have to go to the gym instead. Still, it's warm, and the sun's shining, and I have lots of energy."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000
