Feels chilly tonight. Kids weren't settling so both in my bed, I'd only shut the blinds. Just been in and near the window feels cold brr. I pulled the curtains (:o have two pairs eyelet ones, didn't like one pair but they are thermal lol so just threaded 2 pairs on the pole
) and it really made a difference.
Shame its not chilly enough to send the n0b next door in. Seems to have friends round again shrieking like girls and flicking their tab ends over the fence
I thought his mum had said they weren't welcome after the cannabis incident

I'm about to use an old curtain and some gravel to make a draught excluder. Woop woop.0 -
I made a new draft snake for the french door's the other week tis a beast at over 5ft used the stuffing from a couple of old pillows stuffed inside some old tights so I can wash the cover.
So dark and dreary here I have the urge to stick the woodburner on just to cheer the place up but it's still 19c outside so I would cook in 10 mins. nights haven't dropped below 15c yet.0 -
Today's job for winter prep is sorting out the medicine cabinet as I feel rough and there is no cough mixture or paracetamol....... And here is me who works in a chemist!
I know the feeling, I used to work at a bank and I never had any cash/change because I always thought "oh I can just get it on my break!" And never did!
Last winter I put foil behind my radiators and I'm convinced it did diddly squat in terms of reducing my bills. I really need to get my energy bills down from £170 a month for a two bed flat.
I'm sick and tired of paying a fortune to greedy landlords who don't care and living in crappy rented flats with mould, damp, draughty seals and kitchens which fall apart! But until I can get a permanent full-time job, I'm stuck here. The worst part is, if I had the job, I'm in the lucky position to be able to buy. Grrr! Sorry, rant over.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. your so lucky current outside temp here at 6.15pm is 14c. Unfortunately I'm feeling a bit off and feeling the cold. Will resist the heating though as its not really needed yet. Think I'll sit on the settee under a blanket tonight. It doesn't help that I've had to open the door about 20 times in the last hour to let the dogs in/out.0 -
It's felt chilly here all day but the rain has been pretty constant so I don't think the damp helps.
It was starting to get dark at 4.30 with all the cloud cover so I closed all the blinds and curtains upstairs. We did play out in the conservatory for an hour with the heater on low (lower than we used to need before the new roof :T)
Have pulled vests etc out of the winter cupboard. Only me and DD need them so far - DS won't want them for a while yet...
I did pick up some more salt for the cupboard too.Bossymoo

I am going into the wardrobe of doom tomorrow and swapping out all the lovely, light, airy, flowy stuff for the wooly, heavy, fleecy, bundelly uppie stuff.
I put the takes two of us to lift it duvet on last night, whew was warm.0 -
I have a wonderful goose feather duvet for that. Kept me alive in sub-zero temperatures in student halls
I have a 10.5 tog super kingsize on normally because my OH moaned about my lovely feather one when he moved in (apparently it could suffocate him in the night because of his asthma - funny how his parents have a house filled with feather stuffed pillows and cushions and he's managed to survive into his 20s) - that was until the Baltic Scottish temperatures reared their ugly head and our heating broke for 3 weeks. I couldn't get it off him lol!

Morning all, I'm frozen this morning and really can't seem to warm myself up. I popped to the market yesterday and got 5 pairs of thermal socks. Me and OH love them so we are sharing them. I got the mens ones so they were much thicker. Got to still find some for DD. Still got lots to do on my prep list so I'm going to tackle some now and try and get some washing dry too! xx
Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!
