Thought I was up together in my preps...now have a small [haha] disaster.Old gas fire removed by the gas man, to find the 'hole' full of rubble and no fire bricks.
Where do I start? Chris, the gas man, said I need to have this sorted before the new, energy efficient one can be installed.
Curtains all fleece lined, boiler serviced and rads bled.Fleecy throw ready to curl up with in the evening ,if Rosie my hound doesn't grab it first.:rotfl: Outdoor gear sorted and new wellys bought.
Had exterior insulation done [ 1880's house] so that will make a difference, just got the pantry and meds to go through now.
What to do about he dratted fire place hole thing??
I follow this thread and thanks for the useful info everyone.

I've got some sat at home to do as well. Maybe I should try doing 1 radiator a night after work this week, then finish off at the weekend.

DH and I are full of cold so ended up putting the heating on for a bit last night and this morning. We are also just about out of paracetamol and lems1p (or the cheapy alternatives;)) so will have to get some more of these in.

It feels much cooler in the NE today or it might just be me:o
