I need to re-write my list and work out what I need to do & how much it'll cost. Thats a job for next week when DD has gone back to school. I know I have curtains rails I want to put up (first time using a drill without another adult around...this may prove interesting) and I have decorating I want to do before Christmas arrives to cover up the mess black mould has made now I've finally found something that works killing it *fingers crossed*

We're okay for blankets, we have sweatshirts/jumpers, hats, I'm going to make some gloves so they're long enough in the fingers now I have knitting supplies. I need to get some tension rods to make some temporary "curtains" for a couple of windows, and I want to put carpet tiles down in the kitchen & bathroom to warm them up. I don't want to go topping up food supplies just yet as I need to decorate the kitchen first (a lot of the supplies live on top of cupboards or on freestanding shelves)...so much to do any only me to do the majority of it :( I guess I'm going to be busy!

We have ordered all the blinds for the windows and these should arrive in 2 weeks. I have bought new curtains for DS room and will use his old curtains to line them.

I have found some old cellular blankets from DS cot bed he can use and another fleecy blanket for the sofa so I don't think I need to get any more fleeces:)

We have been decorating 2 rooms this weekend so haven't made much progress with the list as yet.

Finally got my head torch today (£3 from the book club people - cheaper than I'd found a decent one in the shops :))

Really for helping when walking the dog in the pitch black (oh I soooo hate that - worst thing about winter :() but should also prove useful if there's a power cut

Dog now absolutely fine for food for (errr I'm actually too :o to say - but her food her been on offer so seriously stocked up!)

Still struggling with the cats - need to try to order an extra set of litter for the next couple of months & running low on both their wet & dry  (have been NO offers on any of their stuff lately)

Outside - new cat kennel bought & built :)

Managed to get the door totally sheltered :) & kept one side from the old one to put it on so it's off the ground (have now re-stained it so it's weather proof again!) I've put a bit of old carpet in it and there's an old pillow with a fleece blanket over in the covered end ..... spoiled or what!

Need to try to give the fence a quick re-coat if I can (off after next week so hoping for a couple of fine days)

ETA Although the kennel is treated - would you re-coat it now before it's had any real wet on it? TIA

Have you tried Zooplus? I buy ours in bulk from there, they do most brands.

Does this really work and how do you stick it on?

I have large stained glass single pane windows which are permantly wet with condensation, would it stop this? I have stuck the slingfilm on my other windows, but there is one window which doesn't stick that well due to poor quality painted frames.

    Thanks

You may need to try and reduce the cause of the condensation, this is caused by warm wet air meeting a cold surface and the water in the air then condenses out.

If you can avoid putting water in the air, cooking, drying washing that sort of thing it will help the condensation.

Heating and ventilation also help. As would double glazing. It depends what you can afford to do really. There is always a confounded cost to sorting this stuff out, it's figuring out what works best for the least outlay for me.

I use a de-humidifier, but only when I have damp washing on the maiden , mainly for a few hours a day so the cost to run it is reasonable and it really helps a lot.

I never put washing on the radiator to dry, that's lethal levels of condensation right there!

Yes, I would, to give it as much protection as possible.

In the words of a well known friendly dog .... ohhhhhh yeeeessshhhhh!

Their food is around £60 for 10kg BUT I've never paid more than £35 max - just no offers around atm unfortunately :( I will keep an eye out and will get some of the other stuff they'll eat (from Zoo+:)) but it only comes in 800g bags which is a) expensive and b) a pain in the butt when you're used to big ones and only needing to buy it a couple of times a year!:o

Brilliant - wasn't sure but will def give it a coat when I'm on hols (only another week to go!:T), ta :D

I have a winter coat! Hurrah! (And two dress sizes smaller than my last winter coat purchase!)

We went to matal@n today and I saw just what I needed, plus got the kids ski mitts / gloves for playing out. Very pleased with myself!
