Also what about the child asking about their Dad which I'm sure they will one day - what will you tell them?

Surely you'd tell them the truth? What else?

But all that said, the biggest disadvantage my children face, in my opinion, is society's response to their 'single mum' and the negative assumptions that this carries in every possible part of everyday life.

    *sighs*

If I could thank your post a thousand times I would.

Are those that consider children of single parent homes at a disadvantage prepared to accept that many firmly believe that one good parent is better than 2 poor?

A strong extended family unit can be far more beneficial to a child's stability and emotional wellbeing than 2 parents that feel that as they meet the " 2 point 4 " requirement, they need invest no further in their offspring?

That entirely depends on the age of the child.

I have been looking in to fostering, and my work would be supportive of me.

What is the difference between fostering with the council and other organisations? Its all very complicated!

Also, what sort of questions should I be asking?
