as somebody who has owned the S2 and the S3 I can say that the S3 is in a league of its own. The S2 is a good or even very good phone but the S3 is the best phone I've ever even touched let alone used.0

Quick question I was hoping some of you Samsung users may be able to help me with - is there a "profiles" function? As in, to have diff sound settings etc. For years now, on my Nokias and BB's etc, I have had standard profiles set up, eg normal, sleeping, work, etc and I just flick between them. On this, all I can see is volume button at the side to turn it down at bedtime?
Look in the market at an app called Llama, it allows you to make any profile you want, based on time and/or location (it uses network masts to triangulate, so knows when you are at home or work, for example). Also, I want to be notified when I get a txt msg, but the phone is beeping every time I get an email, which is every 2mins!! On my BB I had it so that phone would beep/vibrate for texts/social media, but when it was just an email, it would just flash up on screen, but not vibrate or beep. Any ideas how I would do this? The "settings" part of the phone doesnt seem have many options :undecided
From inside the email app, choose settings and there is an option to silence the tone, choose just vibrate, or silent.====0 -
I loved the S3 when I used it, but I've just noticed some alarming anecdotes that claim it is very fragile - spontaneous cracking of the screen for no apparent reason is one claim I saw last night.
It could be that it was a bad batch, as most of the reports I've seen on forums seem to relate to a period not long after the phone was released. If anyone has any further information it would be useful if they could post it. Having tried one out for a few days, I want one, but it would need to be reasonably durable.
The reports are strange to me, becasue in the few days I had it I dropped it from a coule of feet and slept on it by accident with not a scratch on the phone - conditions not dissimilar to those some reports claim caused extensive damage to the handset.0 -
I believe s3 is an amazing phone and handy to carry than the note2..they have added the stylus and extra screen size. trust me, buy anyone of them and you should be happy..go for the s3 if you want something handy or note 2 if you like bulky phones.
An S3 with a thin, pointy stylus like the S-pen, instead of the commercially available styli that look and feel like a biro with a piece of chewing gum stuck on the end of it, would be a dream come true.
I still have the first two of the Sony Ericsson pioneering P-series smartphones from years ago, as well as an HTC TyTn II and have always wanted something that replicates the ease of handwriting on those phones.0 -
i bought my galaxy s2, last week, and it looks perfect to me. cheaper than s3 and features are awesome, as i am not interested in too much bigger screen and quad core processors0
