And Raspberry muffins? what raspberry muffins please tell

Hi, Emmy, and Welcome to Old Style! I'm making Raspberry and White chocolate muffins for the small Penguins and DD's besssie frien'd breakfast. Taking advantage of 1/2 price frozen raspberries. I've made lots of muffins, but not this combination before. I'll be adapting the Delia Smith recipe, but the link is taking ages to load   . PM me if you want me to send it :j
Edit - it's loaded, but *due to a relaunch* Delia online is unavailable. Sorry - no recipe link today. I use the recipe from Delia's Summer Collection, if that helps anyone.
Also making Welsh cakes, to take camping.

Hello everyone.
Wasn't here yesterday as I was sampling the delight that is Heathrow!
Went down on the 9:10 flight, and then, since our meeting was shorter than expected we tried to come back on the 15:45 - but that was full, so no good for us Staff who are bottom of the list. Then tried for the 18:10 only to be told that was chocca and so was the 20:10. So me and colleague decided to go and get the train. So after much journeying (and a bottle of wine) I eventually made it home. Meant I didn't see the kids AT ALL yesterday. (They were still asleep when I left and fast asleep when I returned.)
Also put paid to any OSing. How does it all pile up so much in just one day?
Been reading this http://ayearinbread.earthandhearth.com/ about bread and stuff. Makes my mouth water. Not good for someone trying to cut down on carbs. But it is helping me get a better pizza dough. Something I'm not v good at. I'm determined to get DH to like HM pizza (kids and I love it!) -but for a man brought up on ready meals and microwaving they're a bit "rustic".
Off to see what' s been happening.
have fun.
I may not be here much over the weekend so happy easter all. Don't eat all your choccie at once.
(Mum bought me a bunch of tulips instead of an easter egg, which was lovely of her ! DH also bought me a "Maya Gold" egg - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm can't wait.)"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
I'm up bright and early because DH reminded me that today is a very important day. Tickets for the semi-final of the Heineken (European) cup go on sale at 9am.
So, from 9 I'll be pressing re-dial time and time again until I get through to the box office. Having said that, I need to find our season tickets to get our membership numbers. I know where mine is (so I'm going!!!), but DH's is quite elusive......
I'm meeting up for lunch today with a friend from my teacher training course. She's now on maternity leave after having IVF treatment. :j :j I'm so pleased for her and her husband as they just gave it "one last chance" and that worked for them.
I'm not sure after today when I'll be back online over Easter. My friend's husband suggested that we all go to Borough Market tomorrow as we enjoyed it so much last time. Friend and I are concerned because "junior management" (ie our husbands) have made decisions by themselves this time, leaving "senior management" (ie us!) to refine the details.
Jobs for today:
Get tickets for semi-final (most important as I have a bet on them winning the final
)
Get washing out of machine and put on new load
Ironing (that I avoided yesterday
)
Have a good day everyone

Morning all.
Hugs to all whether you need one or not as you are such a great bunch of people!
Just housework planned for today as DS broke up yesterday and DD breaks up at 12. Hoping to hear something about my car today as I really need it for tomorrow.
2 days to go till departure day - yippeeOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Really quick one today folks. I'm just about out the door.
i'm dropping OH at work then taking the girls to a big soft play place about 50 miles away. They love it and the best bit is it's run by qualified nursery nurses so you get to leave the little angels for a couple of hours.
I'll have a wander round the shops all by myself. Then home for the afternoon as the girls have another play date this afternoon:rolleyes: though not in my house thank goodness.
OS is out the window I'm afraid (fish and chips on the pier last night) so need to get back on the wagon today.:o
Hugs to the sleepless and to Smokeybabe.
Haribo x
ps. My head's much better so thanks for all the hugs. I've had more laughs than sympathy though.:o0 -
Morning all. I too was out of my pit at some ungodly hour this morning to take OH to work. We're off to a rugby match in Bradford tonight, so he will head over on the train once he's finished work & meet me there. I will already be on t'other side 'o pennines (sorry, that's my yorkshire accent coming out) as I'm going to a meeting in Grimsby today. Pen pen I shall wave as I go past
So, OS plans for the day are nil, as I won't be back in til late, but I need to get my @rse in gear tomorrow cos the in laws are arriving. OH will be off to work early again, so I think I'll get up with him & head straight to Tescos. Good Friday is second only to Christmas Eve in the supermarket madness stakes!
Just had a text from Aunty Liz in hospital (breast cancer) & she sound much brighter, and they're letting her out tomorrow, which is great news. 2 general anaesthetics in 2 weeks is tough going.
enjoy Thursday, especially if like me, it's the last working day of the week :j0 -
:hello: Goooooood Morning fellow OS’ers

Beautiful start to the morning, hoping the weather stays this way! Boys have set off for the library, then they are meeting up with friends and will no doubt end up down on the beach.
Thought my chook was coming into lay this morning, all the signs were there, the stance, the ‘full blown’ look, the pensive eyes but minus one important ingredient … the egg! No matter, she’s healthy and enjoying life and that is the main thing.
I get to do more coursework today with intermittent breaks to fit in some housework. Still need to put the bread machine on but I have made up a batch of yogurt which is now in the Easiyo working it’s magic and the washing machine is churning its contents into a lather. I do feel grateful for all the mod cons we have that make light work of it all. Have been watching a programme on the Blitz at 3pm each day this week and some of the tales are really astonishing – one of the programmes even had my favourite cookery expert, Marguerite Patten featured, talking about how to stretch an egg … now if only my chook would give me an egg to stretch
Time permitting, it’s out shopping this afternoon, d12yo is going on a school trip abroad for a week soon after they go back from Easter Hols and there are a couple of sales on which will hopefully have the items he needs. Also need to stop off at the local farm shops and stock up on some veggies. The fridge and freezer are looking pretty bare and could both do with feeding up.
((hugs)) for those who need/want them, enjoy a moneysaving Easter

Morning everyone,
Well im glad to say I had an excellent sleep last night, although, im still really tired!!
Anyway, another beautiful morning here in Scotland. Ive just had my breakfast sitting out on the patio (although, I do have socks, slippers and a heavy housecoat on):p
Plan for today is to try and go to the gym, then go and visit Dad for a little while.
I really really need to tidy up, my house looks like a bomb site, you would never have guessed that I tidied it yesterday.
And if ive got time, I might try some baking (not very good at baking, but, if I keep trying I might get the hang of it). Might as well try as soon im going to have to start packing as we move house in 5 weeks:eek: What have I let myself in for.
