Hi, greetings and hugs to everyone. The kids are off for Easter, so we've had a baking morning. Firstly bread in the BM, cranberry and orange cake and finally - to keep the younger members of the family happy - Smartie cookies. Hoping to make potao and cheese pie for tea, then DD (10) and possibly DS(5) will be off to jujitsu (sp) tonight with their dad, so I get chance to titivate the house while they're gone. Mum and dad should be calling this afternoon, so need to tidy the bathroom, it's guaranteed to be the room they both see!! Mum's due to go into hospital next week for her hip replacement op, so I think she's doing a tour of the family. My kids are both asking questions, so I think they're worried - DS rang her yesterday to ask if he could give her a hug and look after her...aah, sweet.
    Speak soon,

Hi everybody - mioliere again. Have just watched our fifteen sailors come down the steps of the plane that brought them back from Iran! I just wanted to share the moment and I am so glad that no harm came to them. It's a good news day for Britain today! :T  :T  :T :j

    Hi everyone

purpleprinces - oh that sounds wonderful! It's good to see peeps going on to do what they really want to do. :)

insomiacs - You ain't gonna like me.. :o I only need 4 or 5 hours sleep then I just wake up refreshed. I never try to sleep more because I worked out that those are the hours I need, unless I'm ill or something.

Please please try to relax and don't fret if you can't sleep, because the more anxious or annoyed you get, the more your brain and nervous system become active and you sure won't sleep. It'll right itself in a few nights - unless of course there are specific worries at the back of your mind, such as financial. relationship/ health problems etc.

Ok, so today nothing much OS is happening because I have my surveys to do etc. BUT - I'm going to make the most of tomorrow. Tidying up and cleaning of course, plus I have dug out a large box I had forgotten about, full of bogoff household cleaners and stuff
So this will be my task: go through that box and organise these bottles etc. so they do get used and not forgotten again. After that, I won't need to buy much of that again, as bicarbonate and vinegar are slowly becoming top dogs in my cleaning armoury...:p

Have a great day everyone! :j

    Glorious sunshine here :D
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

    Afternoon all!

Nothing but interruptions all morning, it's taken me hours to read the thread:rotfl: :rotfl: How dare people 'phone or knock at the door during MSE time:rolleyes:

DS and DH have been to the dealers and DS has bought a car. Yipee!! No more early get-ups Sunday morning when he's on earlies because public transport doesn't start until after he has to be there!!!:D :D (what a convoluted sentence, but I bet you understand my drift:o ) They're on their way back now.

We've got glorious sunshine here too so I hope to make it into the garden for an hour or two shortly.

But first, congratulations purpleprincess!!!! Glad it's all working out now. :T Enjoy Europe!

scuzz like how you casually say you spent the evening with BF watching telly:D :D Really pleased for you!

Oh must go, they're back. DH just informs me he's dented our car:mad: Hope it's not too bad.

    Take care, CMxx

    Hello again

    Isn't this sunshine lovely?

Scuzz - Pleased it's going well with the BF! Take it this means it's all become more 'friendly' ;):D

PurplePrincess - That sounds amazing, have a fantastic time. Well done for doing what you really want to too. :)

I have made a quiche lorraine (and tested it ), some of the GORGEOUS raspberry muffins (and tested them ) and chocolate cookies (the recipe from thriftlady) (and tested them:rolleyes:). I have managed to burn half of the cookies due to chatting on the phone to one of my friends and I have almost just choked on one of the other batch of cookies! Serves me right for being a pig I guess :o

Must go and pack bags for the weekend and find a few mins before OH gets back at 3.30 to plant the seeds I've been talking about planting all week :o

I am probably off now until Monday or Tuesday, have a fantastic Easter everyone. Hugs x x x

PS. I like Easter for lots of reasons but particularly because I love this smilie...

Thought i would pop in and say hello. :hello:

I barely get any time on the computer anymore, and i'm afraid it has been to hard to keep up with you all.

I've been helping my friend and my sister with their wedding plans. I was a bridesmaid last weekend for my friend, so hopefully life may calm down a bit now, as we seem to have spent every weekend for the past couple of months visiting people or having people to stay.

Charlie is now nearly 6 months, and still gorgeous. Now starting to roll, and about to get teeth.

It's important that i get back on track with the OS board now as i am no longer being paid for the privelige of being at home all day  so i need to make the pennies stretch, so i will be looking back to you guys for inspiration. :D

I think i may have missed a bit. I keep up with some things from the fly-lady thread, but if i put my foot in it with anyone then please give me a nudge.

Hugs for everyone who is having trouble sleeping...had the problem for a couple of years and it was terrible, never discovered cause but it did go away at last. Since I have been on sick leave have had trouble getting enough sleep, must try to get back to being an early riser, as its the only time I do housework, so late start, nothing done except for washing and cooking.

Sad news this morning 65ish friend killed in machinery accident and friend's 35ish died suddenly yesterday...both funerals to-morrow at same time in different places ( we have our funerals much more quickly here in Ireland than you do in UK) so will have to see how I can see both families.

Many thanks for muffin recipe...might replace Hot Cross Buns for to-morrow, I love raspberries.

Enjoying threads SO much although most of money advice does not apply here, our circumstances will change shortly when I retire on health grounds so haven't done my budget yet (or is that my excuse??) currently on half pay. I am taking all hints to heart and cutting down on waste of money and food so outgoings are substantially reduced, but as outgoings and income will reduce on retirement, my lump sum will clear current debts.

PurplePrincess...go for it girl and enjoy every minute!

    Happy Easter to all
