He had a very bad 18 months with about 5 family members (not very close great aunts etc) passing away then my DH's best friend passed away. Then his little sister came along not long after that our lovely doggie passed away. He then had a hernia so had to have an operation with his little sister having an MRI scan and eye operation about 3 months later. I think it all happened within such a short space of time he hasn't really coped with it all.
Friends of ours have just split up and he keeps asking me when daddy is leaving so he just seems to be thinking the worst all the time. Fingers crossed you never know they might be discussing what help they can put in place for him xx

It sounds like you have all had a rough time of it :( Fingers crossed that he gets what he needs from the school and things improve really soon x
I'm still undecided about the Kindle, was looking at them a wee while back, but just cant make up my mind. I read quite a lot, but I love books iykwim and don't know if it would be the same with a Kindle. I'm far to indecisive that's my problem!

Right, kettles boiled, really am moving now. Shall be back at half 12 for the Mars giveaway though

Once a book person always a book person i should imagine .

My nearest & dearest (book person)tried the Kobo & Kindle and couldn't get on with them .
My Mam ( a book person) has a Kindle (as a present) and it's still in the box .

The Kindle was just part of the tablet i purchased (£85) so I was well pleased as it was cheaper than buying a Kindle (which I wouldn't have dreamed of) and had all sorts of other software etc in there .

I never wanted a kindle as I am a "i need the feel of the books" person. However, I was given one for my birthday (because I am incredibly awkward to buy for) and love it.

I have loads of recipe books on there to save space in the kitchen, all the 50 shades books (which no one could see I was reading lol) and loads of other stuff. I wouldnt be without it now :D

    Afternoon all

Hope everyone is managing to stay dry...I didnt:(

Henlans- Hope you feel better soon

Forestroxydog- sorry to hear about the probs with your son. It can be such an upsetting time. I see you've had lots if very good advice already. My son had a fair bit if trouble accepting his diagnosis of ASD ( he was 7) and it affected his behaviour quite badly. He went through a quite aggressive stage and had a pretty rough time. We had some help through school via the ed psych and the inclusion service but our GP also referred us to CAMHS where we got some excellent help.
We had a course of 10 session I think where my OH and I would talk to 1 child psych about ways to deal w ith the behaviour and my son would go off with another child psych where she would try and talk through his feelings using lots if visual things and toys etc. It really helped us a family. I had a better idea of how he was feeling and how to deal with it.
It's maybe not for everyone but just another suggestion if you feel it might help. It sounds like maybe all the things you mentioned are playing on his little mind. They are a lot more sensitive than we realise sometimes.
Sending you hugs and I hope you get things sorted soon xx
  • Thank you everybody for all fantastic advice. I can't stop crying but hopefully will get it our of my system before school meeting and pick up time. Thanks again you have all helped more then you will ever know xx
    Now on the 5:2 diet.

    Lost 25 1/2 lbs :j:j:j 33 1/2 lbs to go
