Blimey....we are on a septic tank as we live in the sticks too, but ours only ever needs emptying every 18 months to 2 years and there's 4 of us living here.
Never smells either
A neighbour has to have theirs emptied far more frequently because they have paved most of their garden and all rainwater ends up in their tank and caused problems with their soak away.
It costs us £100 to have it emptied but we save a small fortune on our water rates, well over half :T
Being townies before moving here, we were a bit yuk at having a septic tank but now we never give it a second thoughtMy husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -

Thank you soooo much. I'm sure I read last night that their T&C had changed to only compare at 6am  I'm confused0 -
In Japan on the 1st of September every year the japanese start hunting whales and dolphins. Keeping the pretty ones for captive facilities and slaughtering the rest for meat. They are killed in the thousands some years. Watch The Cove if you have the stomach. A very emotional film.
When the cove is red that means there is blood in the water. When it is blue nothing has been caught. HTH.:A
OMG that is awful, i never knew that. well i'll be hoping to see only blue. It's the thought that counts.......I think a lot!0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Thanks Issyc for the new thread.
And a big thanks to everyone who posted kind messages about my mum on the old thread, the increased dose seems to be doing the trick at the moment and she is a lot brighter. DD1 and DD3 did a good job of looking after her on saturday.
DD2 was happy to be back with her uni friends and we left after around 4 hours of being there managing to wash all the cupboards and drawers out with Ecover (RTC from Ts) just freshened everything up nicely before we packed everything away, worked as a team, though OH made her bed and then promptly fell asleep on it. We then took her shopping for a few bits, not much needed with what we took up and we had a not bad lunch in Morrisons.
We were back in time to watch Doctor Who but I crashed soon after.
I see have missed a few birthdays so belated birthday wishes to Nerfdad and Legendmum, and anyone else I have missed, not had time to catch up with everything.
I want Henlans loft, not the stuff in it just the loft so much nicer than mine.Hope you feel better soon too.
From skimming see most offers still working and APGs capped now. And we made the newspapers.
Big hugs to anyone that needs then today.:):)

just got back from the docs.. I have a chest infection and may have to go and have a xray next week..:eek:
I feel you pain mate, I have had a chest infection for 2 months now, had chest x-rays, mucus samples, countless different antibiotics and still in the same miserable condition I was 2 months ago..
At least your beloved Saints won on Saturday, which is a lot more than I can say for my woeful Reading team!!!0 -

" Instead of putting others down, try improving yourself instead. The only person you have a right to compete with is you. In the meantime, treat others how you'd like to be treated. One trait that some of the best communicators share is empathy. A couple of kind words can not only make a person's day, but earn you a friend and supporter for life. For the rest of the week, whenever you see someone you want to judge negatively, pay them a compliment instead. See what happens."
What a brilliant post :T I'm kind of hop skipping at the mo whilst trying to clean. So pleased I didn't miss this post. :j0
