A. Hardly ever tick for marketing.
I never tick for marketing and have been quite lucky since I started comping a few years back, including an ITV win for a luxury holiday!0 -
I usually tick for marketing but never from associated & third parties - my rationale is that I may get emails about comps I may otherwise missproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

A. I hardly ever tick for marketing
In fact I never do unless you have to or I don't notice some sneaky checkbox wording!!
I'll be interested to see how this turns out
May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx0 -
I hardly ever tick, especially the magazine ones. I have won some good things and have only been coming since the end of April. I usually win about every other week or so, but I dont enter masses. 70 a day is my average enteredCurrent Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:0 -
B: You sometimes tick for it
I only tick for marketing if I'm genuinely interested in the company or if it's a condition of entry. I never sign up for third party marketing though and never sign up to receive phonecalls.
I might start ticking the marketing box of all comps (but only the marketing from the company running the competition, if that makes sense?) to see if it makes a difference.
I shall report back.
At the moment, I average about 10 wins a month but some of them are FB ones. I'll report back with my non-FB wins and try to see if there is an increase or anything.

I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who ticks for marketing! I love those e-mails about who's cheating, dating, preggers etc & love the fashion ones even more! So far my only wins have been on facebook and twitter. If I do manage to win anything else, I will post marketing here.0

I never tick unless it is a condition of entering.
Biggest 2 prizes were Blackberry 9320 with a years credit, and a Toshiba Ultrabook. Didn't tick on either of those!A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who posts comps :beer:0 -
Waste of time in my opinion. Always tick and receive below average returns compared to a lot of people on here. That is entering over 250 a day as well.#THANKYOUSIRALEX0

I always opt for no marketing unless:
It won't let me complete without accepting
I don't see the box before i submit
If I think I am already subscribed
My wins this year have been dire, nothing since about march or April.Compers challenge 2024 wins!!!!.... Oct £60... £10 free spins, £50 palm, m&m pouch0 -
I never tick unless I have to, and get enough spam from that (postal particularly annoys me!).
If T & Cs state that it's a random draw of all participants, they would be breaching that if they then discounted entries or even weighted against those who hadn't ticked/had opted out, which would make a mockery of the whole thing.0
