Statement of Affairs and Personal Balance Sheet
Number of children in household......... 1
No child - but that does mean your utilities usage will go down; no kiddy-clothes washing or baby bathing - and you can put on a jumper and turn down the heating.
Number of cars owned.................... 1
Think everyone agrees this should read: 0
Satellite/Cable TV...................... 30.25
Taking this on two months after splitting with your Ex was not a good idea. Does anyone know if a debt management organisation can get this cancelled for OP?
Groceries etc. ......................... 86.67
Some MSEers can feed a family for this. I can't - yet - but was intrigued as to what the .67p represents?
Petrol/diesel........................... 65
Should be zero.
Road tax................................ 18
Ditto.
Car Insurance........................... 190.17
Ditto.
Car maintenance (including MOT)......... 5
Ditto.
Childcare/nursery....................... 300
Hmm.
Medical (prescriptions, dentist etc).... 25
Get some sexy specs!
personal allowance (for make up, misc).. 216.7
Um, not good at all; more spends on make-up than food? And misc is quite unnecessary.
Car(s).................................. 3000
Wipe out a couple of CCs - adds value when considering the interest you will avoid paying.
It occurs to me that as your Ex is in the UK on a dependant's visa, doesn't that mean that he is here to support you? As he is no longer doing that, um, shouldn't he go home?
The 216.67 is the 50 a week, it is for hair (£60 a month), clothes (hoping to be able to buy one item a month), and everything else i need (remember i'm starting from scratch)
My ex has never really supported me, we've been married just over 2 and half years (DD is an honeymoon baby), and he only got a job about 3 months before i moved out. I was supporting him for about 4 years by myself, and then supporting all 3 of us. I was very sick thruout the pregnancy and he was always out drinking, so we were doomed
about the visa, im actually not sure if his visa is still valid since my status has changed, but i will only seem bitter if i point this out. I did tell the home office we were separated and had no contact to explain why he couldnt sign DD's citizenship application, but i don't want to be the one to pull the trigger0 -
i've had some more thots about the money, will post later. Time for work...0

See my debts abouve
My thots about the money:
- My dad insists that i pay at least £500, and as i dont want to unset him (he is going to loan me money for a deposit someday), i have to do that. So i'm reducing his payments to £500 (will post new debt soa later)(my brother borrowed £15000 from him for a deposit 5 years ago, didnt buy a house, and hasnt repaid any of the money. I dont want to add to that, my dad has been good to me)
- I didnt mention it before, but my car insurance is paid up until June 2013 when the insurance runs out (i tried to do it the mse way and put it on an 0% card). so the car insurance money actually goes to service my minimum payments
- I've been paying £100 into DD's accounts (she has 2) since she was born (with a few missed payments). So i think she should have about £1000 in each account. One of the accounts is locked down till January, but i think the other one shld be free for withdrawals in October. I am considering borrowing the money (i'll make it up later) and pouring it into my debts.
- i am also looking for an evening job, or something i can do from home, so if anyone has any ideas, pls let me know. I was up till early hours of the morning searching, no luck.0 -
Thats all i've come up with so far...0

my life assurance is for 900000 - DD is the sole beneficiary (actually need to put this in trust for her so she doesnt get taxed on it, will find out about that later
I am beginning to despair. You can't afford to spend £60 a month on your hair, or buy any new clothes, and you're not 'starting from scratch' as you claim in the following paragraph.
I cannot make a polite and kind comment about your Ex's immigration status but suspect you may be putting your own plans to take British Citizenship in danger if you 'protect' him - however, getting the CSA involved will lead them to ask the relevant questions anyway.
As for buying a life insurance policy that will pay your daughter £900K - do you really want to become a Daily Mail headline? In your current financial situation it is absolutely ridiculous to maintain that policy! How many of the people trying to help you here can afford a similar policy, do you think?and my 27 year old brother and my granny live there too. She's having a lot of fun with so many pple around. Wish i was there....
Well, there's your alternative to taking in what every single respondent on this thread is trying to say about your Light Bulb Moment.
Basically you appear to have two choices; deal with your debt, or run away.
Farewell, Tonibetha. For now at least. Until / unless you open your mind to the realities of your situation and have that LBM, there is nothing further I can add, and quite honestly, I don't have the time to waste.0 -

What she said.
In our house, when things break, we just pretend they still work0 -
Dont give up Tonibetha
so you have about £1000 in a savings account great you need the money now you can 'repay' your daughter later, use it to pay off barcley card two as that's your highest apr.
Stop the savings accounts as you cant afford it and come jan you'll have another £1000 to chuck at the debts.
£60 is a lot to spend on hair, can you go longer between braidings or can you get a wig?
so if you cut what you pay to your dad to £500, (saving £150) save 23.85 on barcley card by paying it off, £190 is freed up as the car ins is paid in full then you're still £391.85 short from your soa
I'd try ringing up the cc companies and see if they will reduce their apr's.
Good luck0 -
Thanks Cocalls.
I can go longer between braidings but will have to spend the £60 initially to get the braids done (then try to go 2 months in between)
Thats a plan
@Robin: i am sad that you've given up on me, and I would like to thank you for your input so far...Good luck0 -
Why do you have to have braids ?
I fear that even with all the suggestions you still haven't grasped how serious your situation is at the moment. To do this yourself, you should be cutting everything that is non essential. That includes, hair, make up, savings accounts, car, car insurance and going out.
Fair enough you're looking to reduce some of these things but they need to be cut completely, not reduced. You simply can't afford them.
Unless you can come to some sort of arrangement with your creditors regarding your debts, your chances of managing your finances are negligible.
I still say CCCS or CAB will be able to help you. You haven't said whether you're prepared to contact them, they really can help you to move forward. The only way you're going at the moment is backwards.0
