Frugal frump to Fab - Astonishing Autum Exquinox to Wondrous Winter Solstice

I'm still reading even if I don't post much atm. Tbh I have let things slip a little
while the kids have been off. I've just been so busy fabbing up my home, my son's home and now my mum's asked for my decorating skills too. Whilst all this is going on I'm still walking dogs, and doing the usual household chores so fabbing has taken a bit of a back seat but will try and rectify it a bit this week. The eating's been a bit hit and miss too, still managed my 2 fast days but haven't really stuck to the calories on the normal days.
Will have to see how it's affected my weight tomorrow. Am feeling as if I'm drifting into low mood again, not sure if it's because of the lack of daylight or what, can't say I've ever associated it to this before but it does seem to have come on over the last week. I'm out and about as much as I can so don't really know what else I can do about it.

Hugs all. I feel cold and achey at the moment. I'm bad at eating during the day so think I'll do something in a minute even though I'm tired.
I need to try on a couple of coats (more for spring\summer) and decide what to keep. Think I'll get OH to take them to the cleaners to get them looking like new again.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Make sure you fit in a bit of "me" amongst all that decorating, like you my personal fabbing isn't first priority above the basics.
Do you think getting close to Xmas is an issue, I know some don't like it as much, it's stressful, can be expensive etc. have a hug xx

Too right bitsy, I think it's essential we all do that whether it's decorating or whatever else is grabbing our time.
Really nippy here today, especially now the little bit of sun we had has disappeared.
Today I was sorely tempted to have a quick shower and leave fabbing to that, couldn't wait to get dressed up warmly. Instead, I thought of my friends on here and decided to do some Movember defuzzing and all the moisturising afterwards. Off for a pub meal tonight but will get myself fabbed up but with layers.0 -
Evening all,
Quick read whilst im waiting for cakes to cook, making for colleagues birthday. Wish I could eat them now, hoping they are done soon so can go to gym class.
I fabbed up today, proper make up and proper office shoes as opposed to whatever flats I drive in often trainers! Got told I looked nice and someone else said I smelled nice! happy days
Back later Eh xx0 -
Its freezing here too now!
Just back from my walk and my hands are like blocks of ice.
First day back at work today - it was the GCSE exam day for yr 11 - most seem to think it went ok and have looked at the paper and we seem to have focussed on the right things so fingers crossed.:o I think I get more nervous than the kids!
My legs are very stiff today after yesterday's run (even after lots of stretching afterwards) so only walking today - have managed 4k to add to the 100k challenge total (over quarter of the way there now and its only the 5th). Not too bad for a Monday.
Just got a big pot of leek and potato soup on the stove and will put a few portions in the freezer to keep me on the straight and narrow next week. Doing quite well with the batchcooking thing - building up a little stock of "ready meals" now.
Did a Movember defuzz yesterday and noticed today that quite a few of the male teachers are growing facial hair - with varying degrees of success so far:rotfl:.0 -
Hi all,
I'm wondering if you can give me some opinions on a wee xmas problem I'm having (and no, I didn't want to think about it yet either :rotfl:) The last 2 years me and OH have had a quiet xmas just the two of us, we can't leave the cat long enough for us both to go back down to see family, I went the first year we lived here but felt guilty that OH was having to spend the day on his own (though tbh he did tell me to go and he's not a very xmassy person so think he was all that bothered).
This yeat his mum and dad have decided they are coming up here for xmas. They want to spend it with his gran, which means going to his aunt and uncle's as that what she always does. Apparently they have now actually told the aunt and uncle this and been invited and we're invited as well.
My issue is, I don't really want to goI don't know the aunt and uncle very well, I think it's a bit unfair for all these extra people to have been dumped on them, I'm veggie which makes me feel I'm being more awkward - not to mention I don't like much of the 'tradiitonal' xmas dinner so would feel rude not eating much. It will just be an awkward day. OH wants to go, although he said he'll understand if I want to go back home and see my mum instead. I am tempted to, but then I won't see OH for xmas at all as it would be for a few days due to bank holidays etc. Am I just being a bit selfish for not going along with his family thing?

Pod personally you're never going to get to know his Uncle and Aunt if you don't ever see them
I know it might not be the perfect Xmas but I think you ought to make the effort and don't worry about being awkward. I used to feel like that with my H's aunt and uncle. I am a bit fussy about certain foods (fruit etc) and I used to cringe with embarrassment refusing fruit salad desert etc but now I know them it's no biggie. Next year why not put cat into cattery and go down together to see your parents xxx

Love the frock Bitsy!! The colour would do nothing for me (olive skinned) but would look lovely on mostly anyone else!:rotfl:
Go for it! Fab price too!
Pod - I always hated going for Xmas to exOH's family. But I did grin and bear it thinking that Xmas Eve or Boxing Day was our "real" Xmas.
I'm a veggie too and always took my own meat substitute (nut roast or something similar) to have and just had their veg etc to show willing.
Would your OH really mind if you went to your parents? Could you have all of them at your house instead to make it more your day under your control? (:eek::eek: to all of the visitors though!)
I hate Christmas and always have! Think its something to do with having a birthday on the 22nd.:( Ba humbug!0
