    Hi there,

I'd like to join in if that's ok? I've put on 7stone in the past 2 years after having major surgery that has messed with my body and my head. I feel it's time to get my act together and try and get back in shape, physically and mentally, so starting from tomorrow I plan to:

    1. Exercise at least 3 days a week, as opposed to never at the moment!
    2. Follow the weight watchers plan, as I have the app on my phone.
    3. Spend more time pampering myself. At the moment, all I do is moisturise.:o
    4. Get my house into some kind of order. It's so cluttered and needs decorated badly, so if I can do a bit at a time it should look a lot better by Christmas.
    5. Put myself first, instead of worrying about everyone else. If I want to do something, I'll do it rather than putting it off because my OH and son don't want to.

Jeez, I'll leave it at that, as there's so many thing I'm unhappy with at the moment and need to sort out, but these are a start!:D

hello to Jacu & Claire and any more newbies I've missed.

Welcome to Fab School. No Mr Gove here:rotfl:

To say get healthy and fit and lose weight is a bit too woolly for me - I need to set goals and work out a plan of action.

    Health & Fitness

    1. Early nights.
    2. Yoga and back exercises every day.
    3. Something aerobic 3 times a week
    4. Walk 5 times a week.
    5. Restart winter vitamins
    6. Lose 1 stone

    Beauty

    1. 1 treatment per day
    2. Sort out winter clothes
    3. Treat myself to some new clothes

    Fun Stuff

    1. Do lunch/coffee with friends more often
    2. Less Junk TV - get off my butt more:o
    3. Make some jewellery
    4. Explore my city - exhibitions, try new cafes
    5. Restart choir - too tired last week
    6. Start attending auctions now and again
    7. Occasional cinema and theatre

    Self Improvement

    1. Read - book club helps but start using library again
    2. Do a course

Finally - dance - to start with just in the house. Not fit enough to join a dance class.:o

Hopefully start house hunting at some point???? Mustn't tempt fate by starting too soon.

    I think that's enough for now.:rotfl:
  • Been thinking about minigoals for this week whilst reading a library book in the bath and realised that whenever I write them I usually end up doing them.
So apologies if this bores anyone......:p

    • Do 3 sessions of exercise from Monday - Friday (thinking 1 swim, 1 run and a long walk)
    • Not cheat on the diet
    • Get the shower hose fixed (one of my little household jobs to do)
    • Mark at least 2 sets of books
    • Stick to the budget (going well so far, need to keep it up)
    • Eat 5 a day every day (don't always manage the whole 5)
    • Buy some vitamins (LL you reminded me!)
    • Finish the current book and start a new one
    Oh, and go to work:rotfl:

Evening all! I have had a lovely family day today which is just what I needed. It does your heart good to be around people that you care for. It was also a chance to think about the things I want to work on for the next few months and I am going to think a bit further before popping them on here.

Hi, think I will try and keep up a bit better this time around. But things move so fast.
I walked to school with DGD, in the pouring rain. I could have taken the car, but ruled it out as it would be a nightmare parking near the school, and that the exercise would do me good.
I passed the Health Visitor on the way, and she said that I looked really well. Last time I saw her, I could hardly walk, and had my walking stick. I pass the Health Centre, and when I first moved here 2 years ago, I couldnt walk as far as it at all. She had to come out to see DGD here.
So I have made huge strides if I think back.
I still do not get around to using my makeup, even though i have lots of it. But most days i do remember to moisturise. I have always managed to keep up with the Defuzzing. But little else.
I still dont really exercise, at 51 running around after DGD is about the limit. Although on Saturday we did go for a walk by the canal, which was an extra bit of exercise for me.
I aim to look at my winter wardrobe and pack away the summer things into the attic out of the way. Something I used to do, years ago, but havent of late.
I also aim to wear my jeans less! I have slowly started to build up the wearing of them, and noticed that I dont actually have many pairs of ordinary trousers at all. Something I shall look into, as I wonder around the charity shops, or maybe even something from a sale here or there.
Tomorrow is my complete fab day. I have the interview first, but after that I have my body massage, indian head massage, pedicure and manicure. Never had those last 3 ever.
After all that if I dont feel fab then I should be shot!
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

    Hi all,

LL - you've reminded me on the vitamins as well, keep meaning to get a new lot in. Am still on my anti-biotics at the moment (though it's the most horrible tasting stuff I think I've ever had in my life )

WW - it's a good idea on the mini-goals for the week. I've got out the habit of having a weekly to-do list but it really did help.

Mooloo - hope you have a lovely fabbing day tomorrow x

claire - spa day sounds great :)

Feeling a bit of Monday-itis today :( Had a nice productive weekend with the writing and then back to the dull 'day job' today. Also I had set out a dress to wear today, and then was chucking it down this morning so wussed out and back in my casual pants and waterproof shoes :o Did do a hot cleanse and moisturise last night though and will do a condition on my hair tonight.
Hope everyone is having a good day x

The rain has stopped so I'm going to stop playing about on here and get out for a walk!! There, I've said it so I can't wriggle out of it.:)
  • What a day!!!!!!!! Have been wet through 3 times today so not looked very fab at all!! Have been for the mammogram -wasn't too bad a bit uncomfy but nothing too unpleasant and over with in the blink of an eye. Have to wait 3 weeks for the result so fingers crossed everything's ok.
Haven't managed any fabbing yet apart from the dogwalking, will try and fit a bit of yoga in later, along with my nails and eyebrows.
Have a busy week this week with appointments but I'm going to try and fit it all in. I've done a list for the week too, pinned it on the fridge and cross things off as they get done it really helps.
I could do with pinching LL's idea of being a bit more specific re some of the goals - will have a think about that one. I do need to get out more and like you jaqu even if it means going alone need to go and do it anyway. Start yoga tomorrow -so that's a start.!

  • hello everyone! and hello to all the newbies!

my goals for the next three months are:
    • to stop messing around, cheating and making excuses and make an effort to loose this extra 2 stone. I want at least stone gone by xmas at least and at 1 pound a week its do-able.
    • to do this i will make an effort to run every weekend and once during the week (doubling what i do now) and i will reassess and try and get in two midweek runs when twice a week is working.
    • start doing yoga again. i did some the other day and i've lost quite a bit of my ability (my belly did get in the way of some of the poses somewhat :rotfl: more reason to try and loose it)
    • learn to say no to food i know won't agree with me and will make me feel awful afterwards.
    • actually follow as many of the principles in my Clean and Lean books and my Beauty Detox book as i can. reading them alone will not make me a healthy person, no matter how many times i read them!
    • wear nail polish more often and perfume every day.
    • wear heels and my pencil skirt that is currently languishing in my wardrobe to work.

that reminds me, taking of Beauty Detox, i saw this article on the blog of the lady who wrote it and thought of you all. it is about the importance of slowing down and taking time for yourself to recharge so that you can come back to things in an energetic and positive way and also stop yourself getting so stressed it starts to manifest in health problems.
