Thanks Bitsy for starting the new thread.
I will have a think about my goals and prob post them in the morning.
Had a very busy day and we did treat ourselves to a kfc, a new one had opened in the town next to us so it was a lovely treat. Feeling rather stuffed and bloated now though.
Have a good evening everyone xxChiari Brain Malformation - decompression survivor

Welcome back Rummer, Mollie & Hewie. Nice to see you again.
Had a niece evening with OH. Going to have an eary(ish) night ready for the next stage of our challenge.
Will think about my goals, but the first has to be
1. Get more sleep. Be in bed by midnight - unless of course I.m out painting the town red. If only .....:rotfl:

Morning all!
Its not raining here yet but the forecast is not good for today and the new week. Autumn is really here now:(
I have quite a few things to do today - none of them wildly exciting but all necessary. I'm going swimming after the dog has been walked and then have the uber-glam jobs of cleaning the wooden floors with special stuff and giving the microwave a good scrub (why do things explode in it:mad:).
I have a few hours of school work to do too so that's the afternoon sorted (anyone see the news about the inspectors saying that teachers have to work longer - when? Don't bother sleeping? Makes me mad!).
I'm also back on the diet wagon today - yesterday was fine and within cals until I ate a big bag of crisps. Its a slippery slope for me, as soon as I start to treat myself I don't stop so its back to basics today and exercise and cal counting. It may be one of the last longer dog walks (an hour or so) today for a few days if the weather is anything to go by - will make the most of it.0 -
I have been lucking for a while now and now a nice shiny bright I feel its time I stopped lucking. Thank you ALL for the inspiration you have given me. I use perfume and moisturizer every day and wear makeup several times a week. Given up wearing the flatties unless I know I need comfort more that style. Over the last 5 months I have lost well over 5st (due to weight lost surgery) and am now catching up with my daughter size wise. I'm hoping to lose another st for Christmas. So thank you all for your inspirational stories and tips xxxSuicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.0

Welcome Auditbabe, well done on your WL :T
Yoga has been completed. I ache in places I didn't know existed  back to the IF today which I've found hard when friends are on FB posting pics of bacon butties:rotfl:
Just some housework today and usual pottering, not much will get done tomorrow as we're back down to Bath for H's interview.
Have a lovely Sunday, hope the weather isn't too dire for you :cool:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

:mad::mad: This was me when I read that from the Chief Inspector yesterday!
I don't know any teachers who go home at 3 every day but I know loads who are in school at 7.00.a.m.! His point seems to be that teachers are lazy and get pay rises they don't deserve. AFAIK teachers get pay rises for just three reasons: One is a cost of living rise linked to the lowest mesure of inflation but currently frozen. Then for 6 years only a teacher rises from the starting salary of about £21 000 as they gain experience. After that there are two possible further rises based on consistently good performance. The third way is, as in most other walks of life, through promotion to Head of Department or Headteacher or similar. I'm heartily sick of this bashing of people working in public services and the implication that, although they didn't cause the recession, they must be the people to pay to sort it out. If I didn't have to go to a family wedding on 20th October I'd be out demonstrating!!!
And breathe.....:D
Now I've got that off my chest I'll review my progress to fabness.....
:wave:returners, newbies and former lurkers.
When I first joined the thread my goals were to turn myself round from the bag lady I felt I'd become. I lost weight (3.5 stone), sorted out my anonymous black wardrobe and started generally making the best of myself with skincare, haircare and make up. I've managed to maintain that for well over a year now and the routines have become second nature.
My goals for the next three months are ones I've dabbled with for a while but seem to give up on all too easily:
house fabbing in that I really need to keep on decluttering. I'll start with swapping round my summer/winter clothes and taking anything I don't need to the CS. Then there's a sort out of all drawers and cupboards needed.
body fabbing in that I must build in more exercise to my daily routine. Also, I know I can easily get a bit down if I don't get out for some fresh air and daylight in the winter months. I'm not even fussed about jogging or running, I'd be happy with a regular walk.
brain fabbing in that I need to use it more! I get disappointed with myself in that I feel I spend too of my spare much time just slobbing about watching TV. I don't want to be overanalytical but I feel I really need to learn more. I'm not sure how I'm going to tackle this but I need to do something constructive and 'improving' on a regular basis. Is this just me?
It's a ghastly day here, grey and tipping down with rain. Fortunately, I'm off out later to celebrate a friends big birthday with a meal in a French restaurant. A pity about the weather as the drive there is through lovely countryside but it's better than sitting at home feeling miserable!
Hope everyone else is cheerful.:)0 -
Hi all
Im new to this section of the site but here goes
2 weeks ago in the local pub I saw a friend I hadnt seen in 6 weeks, she had done really well losing weight and had been and had a personal shopper appointment at John Lewis, anyway she looked fab.
Anyway, I know I do scrub up ok and realised I had been wearing my jeans to the pub for over a year. A few of us girls got talking and realised that we in our 40s now found it difficult to co ordinate clothes so kept to the same old things.
I spent 3 days on house of fraser website looking at what I had in my wardrobe and what things I needed to go with it to make an oufit by looking at their pictures of an item styled as a whole. I ordered lots of things and only kept about a quarter of what was delivered. I found I liked quite a bit of Mary Portas which was innthe sale and it seemed to fit me well.
Anyway the last two Fridays I got my legs out! High heels, nice skirt and blouse and belt and handbag.I always either took my day handbag with me what ever I wore or didnt bother with a bag, i have always been frightend of belts unless they just went in my jean loops but actually got a few to wear with dresses or skirts and tops. I got loads of nice comments. So I have now vowed even though its my local pub I will make an effort.
I have been for a back massage twice last week and am going again this week.
I have ordered the Paul McKenna Get slimmer book and im going to start to do some exercise.
Next week Im going to get my eyebrows done and sort out my make up draw.
I have bought some nice tights at TKmaxx that were a good price.
I next need to sort out a facial regime, i buy the stuff and stick it in a draw, so need to get into a habbit of using it each day.
I want to feel like a sexy woman again!0 -
:hello:Hi to everyone old and new.
Not feeling too cheerful today (H again!), won't bore you with it on here. Anyway my goals for this thread are
1: Keep up with 5:2 diet and try to keep losing at least 1lb a week.
2: Maintain and try and build on the beauty routine.
3: Keep up the yoga and build up the time on this.
4: Try and get on top of the house fabbing a bit more.
5: Try and sort some sort of voluntary work out ( as though I registered for a couple have never heard back)
6: Get organised for xmas - no running about like a headless chicken at last minute.
I could go for quite a few more but I think that's enough to be going on with!
Bitsy Good luck to your OH with his job interview.
Good luck to each and every one of you on this thread, and I think we should all give ourselves a pat on the back for our sucesses so far.:jFrump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Hi all,
Floss - join in as much as you like hun, good luck with your goals x
EH - glad the wedding went well, and 2 dresses all accessorised, go you!
Molly and Rummer - welcome back x
auditbabe and claire21 - welcome, sounds you're off to great starts already
maman - it's fab how far you've come, gives me hope I'll get there eventually :rotfl: re the 'brain fabbing' - is there anything you've always fancied trying, ie a new hobby or learning about a new subject - could try your local college or the OU have a lot of 'introduction' courses, which are short ones for you to have a taster of a new subject.
Bitsy - hope OH's interview goes well - resist the bacon butties :rotfl:
Lizzie - hope you're ok hun, good goals, think I may need to add the house fabbing and xmas organisation to mine
Concert went ok last night, minor panic when 2 of the 3 cameras had memory cards run out on the last song, so hope the 3rd one had a good view! Was rather bad and ordered pizza when we got home, hadn't had much all day but still, not a good startBack on the cal counting today I think, my scales have decided to stop working so not sure if I've lost anything this week, probably not with quite a few slip ups. Loads to get done this week so need to try and be organised I think - not always my strong point! Looks quite nice out, bit of sunshine, am debating whether can have a little break from the pile of jobs to do to go for a bit of walk.
Hope everyone is having a good day x0 -

Well, I for one am in school at 7.30am (school starts at 8.40), usually only have 20 mins break all day for a quick sandwich and then have afterschool revision classes 3 days a week and a faculty meeting every Monday until about 5pm. Then at home I always do at least an hour (usually around 2 hours) every night except Fridays and work most of one of the weekend days. All for not very much money at all. I know people will say I should be grateful to have a job (which I am) but there's only so much a person can do without going doolally!
Rant over.
Hello to all the new lovely people
Some fantastic new goals posted by everyone - will probably end up stealing one or two:rotfl:
Had plenty of exercise today - 1 mile swim, 2 lots of dog walking (one around the water park and lake) and have miraculously stuck to the diet so far today - quorn shepherds pie in the oven now and another made ready for tomorrow after a long day at work.
Think I'll have a relax and a bit of telly this evening (if Mr Gove doesn't mind!) before the onslaught of the next holiday camp life officials think teaching is! (promise I won't rant again!)0
