Bought lunch when out at work today - £5.50 or so on that.
However my month is finishing today - so I will round up and declare spends of £325/£300.
£25 over budget but pleased because I know next month we will be cutting back in some areas so this will be less I hope.
Will be switching over to the November thread from Sunday but will keep tabs on this one as well.0 -
Hi all,
I needed milk on Wednesday and went to Mr T without a list... *Rolleyes at self*
And they had LOADS on offer...
4 cans tomatoes for £1
4 cans of Chickpeas for £1
Haagen Ice Cream - £1.11 mispriced! So I bought the last two and snaffled them away for xmas
Chicken breasts reduced to £1.62
And packs of lean steak mince 750g - half price offer at £2.57 a pack
2kg bags of lentils - £2
Obviously I had to stock up a little bit.
I have put a few things away for xmas too, like stuffing mix etc and also bought a couple of packs of cooking bacon, which they always seem to run out of!
I went to Ald! this morning to buy some more 39p veg too...
Total spend £33.39
October spend £233.10
LEft to spend (10/11) = £16.90...
ETA - I know my month runs until the 10th, but will move over to the new thread when everyone else does, if that ok? No point in me staying in here all alonex

Hi there, I am declaring this month at £371.25 /£400 so quite a lot under budget. This is great and shows how important it is for me to think about my spending on shopping. I may try to reduce next months but I also want to start stocking up for Christmas....Hmmm tricky. I'll have to think about it for a little while. Anyway, see you all on the November thread. Cheers!0

2 more small spends, £9.88 in Mr T's and £1 in Mr S, as OH bought a 6 pack of the new walkers deep ridged crisps that were on offer, they're nice but nothing special so wouldn't bother paying any more than a £ for them.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

I am so grateful to everyone who contributes to this thread and the GC in general even if I can't keep up with the the thread. Although I am a whole £2.53 over budget this month with another five days to go, without the GC it would have been at least £50 more. The awarenes of having to admit to spending money that I hadn't intended has slowed down my spending to an amazing degree. I no logner go whoopsie hunting and have become very aware of how quickly I used to dribble money away buying 'bargains.' Yesterday I had a quick calculation about how much money I'd actually save spending £60 to get a 5p a litre off petrol voucher (the supermarkets are about to start those offers again) and realised - it's not worth the candle. Ever, for us, although for other people that may not be the case because our mileage is miniscule.Better is good enough.0

I am off to Shropshire for a mini-break early tomorrow morning and don't anticipate any grocery shopping until I return on the 1st November.
So I am declaring my October total as £39.23/£50.00, so nicely under budget! That leaves me £10.77 to put in my version of the "second purse" (I use that money for good value bulk-buys).Because it's fun to have money!

My month is now over so I am going to declare £214.77 for October which is under budget :j:j:j:j:j:j
Going to try for £200 in November which I am hoping is doable for the four of us. Time will tell....
Thanks for all you great ideas this month - they have really helped.

No spends today. Yesterday OH bought some things - cheese, lightbulbs etc. Hhe's agreed to reduce his limit for next week as the stuff could have waited and I'm so close to being over! Having freezer veggie lasagne tonight with HM garlic bread and some wilted spinach & asparagus. Was supposed to be turkey escalopes but having meat all weekend due to social events so didn't feel like it tonight.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

I like that version of the second purse!
I dont have the available cash, or the time to keep track of buying from my self... I might do what you do and keep my leftover cash for that purpose
Thank you for that :TSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying
