    Hi everyone,

Well October was a (big) disaster. All was going well until this weekend when DH came shopping with me. We had some friends round for dinner and needed to get alcohol, some of which will be for Christmas, but even so......

I am still going to be checking in until 31st October as I know some of you may wish to post your budgets for November here. I have however started my November GC now as DH has been paid :D

Hope you have better luck than me in keeping those purses shut :o

Hello everyone, hope your all doing well. I have gone over budget by about £30, which is really quite a lot (50% of my budget), but i do think i have to rethink the alcohol thing (include - not include). I would like to declare October at £90 see you all over on November thread. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to do these threads.

Will NOT be spending any more tomorrow so am going to declare October at £291.45 a huge overspend of £51.45 :eek:
Am shocked at how much have gone over this month but looking back I can see that about half of the overspends has been on ready made meals - pizza, curry etc which is most unusual for us and just goes to prove that home made is cheaper. At least I know where I have gone wrong and can work towards putting it right.
Good luck to all those finishing off their October challenges.
    MARCH £62.38/250

Spent £4.20 in Mr S today on veg

Having pie, mash and broccoli tonight, and having chicken with honey+parsnips w/broccoli tomorrow.

Lunch is just HM tuna salad.

I was a subscriber here for many years then thought I knew it all and went it alone. Today I realised that my food spending has been getting out of hand. I am going to rejoin you for November please. My month starts on 24th when we are paid so I have already started collecting my receipts and meal planning. Meal planning is one area that I have kept up for years now and I do a month ahead. Last month we spent £248 plus bread and milk at £8 per week plus £40 on extra fruit and vegetables.=£320 for four adults, 2 of whom are manual workers.
I used to pride myself on feeding the family for £120 per month!! I need to get back on track as we can't afford £320 a month.

In case we are snowed in again I also need to stock up my store room.

I would like to aim for a spend of £200 for November please.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

    Hi, Happy Halloween all GCers.

Last few receipts to add up and I'm declaring for October at £219/£200 so about 10% over. But there was the Halloween party to cater for.

I'm making OH eyeball pasta tonight - always do something silly for halloween http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/12856/eyeball-pasta

    See you in November

  • Another almost €20 on some dinner/cooked breakfast bits (having friends stay over), compostable bin bags, milk and a few halloween treats. :)

Declaring at €221.47/€250 which is handy as I'll be putting in an order with ecoverdirect tomorrow for about 6 months worth of dishwasher tablets :)
