Weekly shop today in A!di then a trip to local Chinese wholesalers and have now spent £128.27 out of £240 I will need some fruit & veg on Saturday and have also ordered some skirt beef from local butchers which will also be on Saturday.
In the Chinese there were large bags of bok choi /pak choi for about £2.50 (probably 10-12 heads of it) I don’t think I would actually use all of it before it went off so was wondering if any of you knew if it could be frozen, failing that could I use it instead of cabbage in bubble and squeak and freeze it that way? I have in the past used it in soups, stir fry’s and also as a vegetable dish along with mushrooms and onions.MARCH £62.38/2500 -

Well had 17.00 left of my budget but decided I would go shopping today
as do not feel well and might not be able to go for a few days.
Spent it all on stocking up fruit and veg for next week, and got whoopsied ham, prawns and yogurt
So pleased I did as feel awful now and have a nasty ear infection which has made it too painful to eat the steak I planned for dinner, so meal saved and I get to draw my 20.00 again tommorow and see if I can do the same again next week.Slimming World at target0 -

Oh, forgot to say, i took two mystery portions of food from the freezer....for some reason i convinced myself 1 would be vegetarian for my daughter and myself and the other carnivorous for my son. As it turned out, they were both meat meals so my son got a massive plateful for tea and i had to rustle up something for myself and daughter. Thank goodness for Quorn!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Morning! Just popping in to update as found an earlier receipt which was higher (of course!) than I guesstimated. Also bought ingredients to make a cheesecake to take to dinner at a friend's tomorrow, also ingredients for a fruit cake made with mincemeat which I've re-found the recipe for! If only I didn't enjoy baking so much I'd save £s and lbs!:p
So am on £111.99 now for month, updated in sig. Really hope not to have to shop at weekend as can't cope with the crowds so have a good one everybody.:DMake £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

So we are still at £99.61 for this month (for 2 adults). I'm now at the stage where I would normally nip and get a few bits (prob £20/30 worth), however I am now eating out of the cupboards (so to say) in a bid to try holding off on the 'few extra bits' a bit longer. The closer I can hold out to payday (end of month) the better and less money we will spend. I have plenty stocked up....some of the meals will be strange and foods put together that I wouldn't normally but my OH eats anything so that's a good start.
I know I will have to get milk and bread at some point when my freezer reserves run out.0 -

Any chance of the recipe for the fruit cake with the mincemeat ingrediants as I have a jar in the cupboard to use up0
