    Thanks.

Any idea on how it goes with the warranty?
Couldnt be sure on that as they were listed as official but have since been pulled.(Though its the same version as VF New Zealand)

Vodafone Ireland was due release yesterday will check on that one now.

They do have the vodafone splashscreen on startup which the original didn't.
  • I upgraded to the G300 from the original OSF , I bought the G300 for £95 unlocked. I am very happy with it especially the large screen. It is fast enough for me to stream Neflix/BBC iPlayer and Amazon Cloud. I use it with a Giffgaff Sim so no expensive contract to worry about

    This is unneccessary scare mongering.
I merely issued some precautionary advice based on the alleged scaremongery. Maybe you should have quoted the person who originally scaremongered (he knows who he is......:D)

Tried a couple more Tesco, both claimed to be out of them for weeks and not expecting any more. Could buy locally for £99 or go through isme and face a life of endless junk mail from them :(

Will ponder over a curry later....

Even paying £99 is a good price for the phone.
  • I've just swapped from the HTC Desire to a Huawei Ascend G300, on MSE recommendation as I know nothing about phones and don't care about image or different versions of Android or rooting etc.

I was perfectly happy with the Desire apart from the inadequate internal memory meant that I was limited to very few apps and I had constant 'low memory' error messages.

I tried rooting etc but couldnt do it so got the G300 and am currently selling the Desire on ebay

New phone is fine - probably a bit faster and loads of app space!

True, but this is MSE and we don't like paying £99 for something we can get for £61 :D

i really dont know why people bang on about how fab the g300 is, i purchased one..updated the firmware due to the poor speaker and in my opinion its not that good a phone, the keyboard is shocking VERY unresponsive.....ive actually thrown it in a drawer and started using my old xperia play again

even my eldest kid dosent want it after using it while her tmobile vivacity was playing up...says its rubbish and i agree

    waste of money

Here's my reply to your exact same post on the 'other' G300 thread.

I think you may have a dud. Have you thought about taking it back? The bottom 3 keys were pretty unresponsive for me out of the box but the firmware update fixed that 100%. The keys are now as responsive as the ones on the HTC One S I sold. The only time the response became poor was when I put a screen protector on it - took it straight off as it doesn't need one anyway due to the Gorilla glass.
