Hi Tim
Appreciate all your comments about memory foam/pocket sprung mattresses. We've been looking for one for a while now and have been into numerous shops to try them out before we buy online as they're much cheaper. We've tried both memory foam only mattresses and the combi versions and I have to say that the combi versions win hands down. Some are extremely comfortable indeed! The best one we found was in a bed shop but cost £850, which I think is a bit excessive.
We're still looking but came across this one which looks to fit all the criteria you mentioned http://www.mattressman.co.uk/snuggle_beds/mattresses/mattresses/king_size/P20S1470/snuggle_aloe_vera.aspx
I think it's a reasonable price but know nothing about the manufacturer or indeed the density? What do you think?
If you sell beds and mattresses I think it's fair given all the help you've given to tell us who/where you're based and how we can find you? In my opinion, there's nothing more stisfying than buying from someone who appreciates customer service and after care and you've shown both these things.

They aren't memory foam only, they are reflex foam with a layer of memory foam on top.JamesLewis wrote: »We're still looking but came across this one which looks to fit all the criteria you mentioned http://www.mattressman.co.uk/snuggle_beds/mattresses/mattresses/king_size/P20S1470/snuggle_aloe_vera.aspx

Like you said, it says nothing at all about the density, so you would need to ask them. As for the manufacturer, I don't know much about them.JamesLewis wrote: »If you sell beds and mattresses I think it's fair given all the help you've given to tell us who/where you're based and how we can find you? I'm afraid it's against MSE rules to give out my web site address in the forums. If anyone else wants to tell you then that's ok, but I can't as it would be seen as advertising.0 -

The Healthbeds mattress featured in the report is indeed a very good mattress. However there are a few things to take into account when reading the report.- The report is dated January 2006
- It only trials 17 mattresses. 12 of these are memory foam on top of reflex foam, 2 of them are open coil sprung with memory foam, and only 3 are pocket sprung with memory foam (which are widely regarded by experts as the mattresses that give the best support).
- The report actually states that all memory foam mattresses are non turn. This isn't true, there are two sided pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses available, but they weren't tested.
- The report gives points for convenience. The reflex foam/memory foam mattresses score better in this because: a) they often come rolled up and vacuum packed, so are easy to transport. b) they often have a removable cover. The reason why these types of mattress are most common is because anyone can take a slab of memory foam and a slab of reflex foam, glue them together, then put them in a cover. In mattresses with springs the cover is usually part of the structure of the mattress. You obviously can use a cover over the mattress though. I don't think that this scoring should count, as they are two completely different types of mattress.
Please don't think I am just knocking Which Magazine. They give a very good guide based on information they have gained from what they believe to be good and impartial sources. They don't allways get it 100% right, but they are a very good starting point for your research. Obviously if you find a model of mattress that isn't featured in their trial, then you are non the wiser as to how good it is.
I should mention that the report shown in the link is not the full version0 -

Hi Tim
I was hoping for your advice on this Lombok memory foam mattress, I just bought a bed from them so can get the mattress half price in their sale at the moment but I don't really understand the specifications they've written up. Is there enough memory foam? and is it a pocket sprung memory foam?
http://www.lombok.co.uk/mattresses-amattresses/ (it's the second down)
Also I've found this alternative, which although not pocket sprung memory foam might be worth considering?: http://www.memoryfoammattressdirect.co.uk/store/memory-foam-mattresses/double/memory-foam-700-4ft6/
Thanks
