Thanks ecoelle - I imagine at some point my enthusiasm will wane, however I intend to keep up the momentum for as long as possible;)

I hope you have a nice weekend planned with the little one X

    Well done Natty!! :T
It's quite satisfying isn't it once you have made a sale and received payment. Although I'm sure you will - remember to get proof of posting if not using a tracked service.

I'm sorry if is a daft question BookWorm, however would you recommend using a tracking service? I imagine there will be an additional cost for this....

    No question is daft!
It really depends on the item and value. Using ordinary 1st or
2nd class mail you are covered for up to £46 if the item is lost, etc - as long as you have proof of posting - as you will need that to make a claim

I personally tend to use recorded delivery on low value items so that I know it has been delivered ok. I have been caught in the past where a buyer said an item never arrived and I had to give them the money back and ended up losing out financially so perhaps I'm a little more cautious than is necessary. I build the cost into the postage and the buyer knows what basis they are bidding/buying on as it's stated on the auction page.
For higher value items I always send by Special Delivery - as that is tracked every step of the way (rather than just sig on delivery)

Moving on to postage guestimates - if you know the weight of your item you can look up the postage costs (for all services) on the Royal Mail website - it's very useful. I use my electronic kitchen scales - they work a treat!

    :)

Good luck with your EBS today Twinny, I'll check your diary later, however in the meantime sending you LOADS of lucky lemons for high bids:dance:

Lula I had a lovely day yesterday, thank you.
Lunch with my daughter (in a restaurant overlooking the river, on a gorgeous sunny day) and SHE PAID! It was a total role reversal, however I was very chuffed to receive such a lovely treat, and we ended up just spending the whole day together....even my son stayed in last night, so a very family orientated day:)

HDK - I posted on your diary earlier - your EBS are impressive, well done:T

I still have to receive a payment for one of yesterday's sales and here's hoping she pays today, so that I can post off with the other three parcels tomorrow *must buy brown paper today*

Good Luck to everyone who has eb*y 'ends' today:grouphug:

Congratulations on the first eBay sale Natty, my current batch don't finish until Thursday lunchtime.

I'm not sure about others, but I tend to go for 10 day durations when I'm selling, as it gives you the best chance of having lots of people viewing your items.

That said, it might put off people who want an item quickly. What do the rest of you opt for? :)
