That's fantastic news re car switches (whatever they are) Matt:T

Me too Natty, what colour are they Matt :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well done on the Payp@l figures Matt, are the switches a good profitable venture?

I've seen you mention selling on car parts before so assume this is an area you have some knowledge of, is it something that could give you fairly regular extra income?

Well done on the Paypal jump Matt - that's good money :)
  • Haha, thanks all!

Yes, ATT you could say they're profitable. I would say each one costs me about £6 in total and a profit of £16+ each.

I've only concentrated on cars that I've owned, hence knowing a little about them. I've looked for other switches and bits without the same success as this. Its just a bit of fun really. A hobby to play with and help the Paypal balance!

  • Hi Matt, any way to earn a bit more cash is a winner - well done on your car stuff - I have no idea what switches are but if they make £ that's all that matters :T

How's the car going for your kids?

  • Hi Tilly,

Thanks, the switches are the ones you turn the headlights on with. Its a weak design and they tend to break over the years. I spent a good few hours researching where I could find ones still in production in China. On the car forum, there were threads dating back 6 years before I found them, talking about getting parts from China. No-one had found them or bothered as much as me, I was the first to offer anything like this for sale on the forum.

The car has taken a little bit of a back seat at the moment, mainly due to trying to get the garden sorted for decking. As the car will live outside on the decking, we felt that we need to concentrate on getting that done first. Next weekend, the big timber joists will be going in that the decking sits on.

Work wise, I've had a bit of good news about a loft conversion that my builder mate and I priced up. They haven't said yes yet, more of a, we are really interested in it but just need to work out when it can happen. Fingers and toes are crossed for that as its a new direction for my self employed work to head in. My builder asked me to come and see him after work on monday to price up another job. I'm going to run out of fingers to cross!!!

    Hi matt

    A fellow Torquinian here :D

Just spent the last hour reading your diary and I must say, well done, your progress is fab! I'm not OPing yet, infact, I don't even have a mortgage! :D I'm still at the deposit stage and I like reading diarys to spur me on. If you don't mind, can I tag along?

  • Hi Nat

Thanks for dropping in and having a read. I feel responsible now for you using an hour you'll never get back! I do feel pleased with the progress, especially with how wasteful I was before.

Very best of luck with your house buy when it happens. Just think how well informed you are from being on MSE before you even make the first payment!

Of course you can tag along, it does get a little silly sometimes. That's normally Natty though!!!! Haha. If I can offer any help when you're looking for the right house, then just give us a shout. I can have a look or give an opinion if you like.
