Getting very disheartened

I think the best way to treat it is as a fun hobby and anything won is a bonus!! I won a good amount last year, then this year it took until this week and I won a food mixer. I don't enter very many, only the things I really want, no dvds, alcohol, couples holidays, books - so that rules out a lot.
As I enter less I expect to win less, and when a win comes its exciting and gives me a boost!!!
You will get a win, and three months isnt very long, some of those competition prizes wont have been drawn or sent out yet xWins This Year - Rug Doctor Cleaning Set - Mug - Cook Book - Books and seeds
IVF #5 completed, baby #2 arrived into the world 14th Oct 2012.
Proud mummy to two IVF babies just need to win thousands to pay it all back!:rotfl:0 -
I started earlier this year and decided I would give it 12 weeks and spend every possible moment I had entering competitions...it took 3 weeks for the first win on that basis and there have been plenty of small wins since. However, it was taking too much time and after winning a few things I really had no interest in, I have shifted my 'game plan' to only entering when I have a genuine spare half hour and only entering for things I want/can use. This has cut the wins down to approximately zero but I do at least know that it's possible! Like others, I do it for the fun of it and recgonise that it's just luck and some days you have it and most of the time you don't...!0

I'm just entering my fourth week of comping and not a sausage yet! I'm probably entering between 30-100 per day. I said I was going to give up after a month if I hadn't won anything. However, I am actually really enjoying it so going to keep my fingers and toes crossed and carry on a bit longer

I know how you feel, I've been coming for about 10yrs and having a real dry spell - not won a thing in 18mths
I just keep hoping but I'm getting desperate now lol"Those who try to make sense of the world are divided into four categories: scientists, theologians, philosophers, and fools. Correction ... make that one category with three sub-divisions" -- Carlo Kensada0 -
I think it's just down to luck mate - some people are more lucky than others. I agree don't treat it like a chore or like you just have to win xxxx treat it like fun, like a hobby and forget about them as quick as you enter them, that way when something does turn up it will be even more special!
As a side note, for those that said they track the posts they have "thanked" so they can see how many they have entered - can you tell me how you do that please?:2014 Wins : Aug : Retro Sweet Box, Family Tix to Leeds Dino Exhibition, 2 x Capital Cup Football Tickets, 2 x VIP Experience to the Saturdays concert0 -
I've only had small wins and not as many as previous years. Don't give up. Play for fun and any win is a bonus. :-)0

Feeling the same - started off really well, won a washing machine, irish hamper, sony tablet and lots of little things but this past couple of months its all dried up.
Guess we can't all win all the time - but it'd be nice
Massive thanks to all who contribute on the MSE forums, especially on grabbit and competition boards0 -
Before i fly, Im not sure if this is gonna help (but i say to myself its helping me)
I use 'askganesha' (other sites are available) for my horoscopes and also theres many tips and lucky days pointed out, and lucky numbers etc.
When i read a weekly scope that says 'all your hard work will pay off' it gives me the extra bit i need to carry on.
Although i have won an unbelievable amount in the 6 months ive been comping, even i get down especially after spending 10+ hours a day for a couple of weeks (i know some people have gone months and years without a win)
But take a look and do what i do ' No matter what JUST BELIEVE that TODAY IS GOING TO BE THE DAY 'I WIN'
Hey whether it works or not, its certainly helped me through the days sometimes when i feel i cant be bothered..
And if you havent won anything then you have nothing to lose either way so go for it, try it for a week and say everyday
''todays the day and believe that you really are going to win''
I wish everyone reading this the upmost luck - and i really do mean that, have a fantastic week and to all the non-winners 'dont worry its YOUR turn this week'!!!!
:Txxxx
(p.s this method still hasnt won me an ipad though:rotfl:)Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:0 -
My advice is.... expect nothing.
Enter competitions because you enjoy doing so. That way, if you do win something it's an unexpected bonus!
I had plenty of small wins, and just kept going. Then I had an email to say I'd won a Tag Heuer watch worth £3.5k. And yes, it was certainly an unexpected bonus!
Good things do come to those who wait! Chin up, carry on, good luck!
Best competition wins:
2011 - £3,695 Tag Heuer watch!!
