Hello all. I have been comping full time for three solid months now and have yet to win anything at all even a bar of chocolate. I am getting very disheartened and trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong:( What does everyone do when they have dry spells and what am I doing wrong. It's hard not to give up. All the best of luck to everyone

I have just spoken to someone who has entered the same comp for 20 years and have just won their first prize: a holiday in Majorca for 4 people; keep going.....0

How many competitions do you enter each day?
I guess the trick is not to expect anything and whatever you do eventually win is a bonus...Also only do it if you enjoy it! I have been comping a month and I enter loads each day and all I have won is 100 nectar points but I know one day something will come.

Thanks everyone for your replies and advice. I'm doing about 30 comps a day through here and then every week do the take a break, chat and that's life ones. Will try and remain positive and send out those good vibes and maybe someday :j Will definitely post once I have my first win. This may sound silly but it's not because I have a foreign sounding name is it, or because I have a yahoo email address? I know clutching at straws but just trying to up my chances. Although there's not much I can do to change my name
All the best everyone and thanks again for reading my moan, it helps to know I'm not alone 0 -
when you have everything imagine you have nothing, and when you have nothing imagine you have everything!
Do it for the fun of it and the surprise that may come, its fun imagining what you would do with the prizes, who you would take on the holiday, I even enter competitions for holidays and wonder if I'd get the time of work ha ha, what cake you would make with the mixer you might win, where you would put the new fridge freezer in your already packed kitchen, maybe the postman will bring a free packet of coffee as a runner up prize or a full on luxury hamper, enter each one, forget about it and start enjoying the thought of the prize for the next one, I use it as a therapeutic focus to fill spare time and not a guarantee of anything.Don't expect anything and turn the do it for fun button back on.0 -
I've only been comping a month but haven't won anything either. Getting impatient!

I've also started sending out for all the free samples I can, it helps keep things going when you're getting something unexpected in the post (I've usually forgotten about them by the time they turn up!), even if it's only small!

Do you have autofill? With my gmail account that I've set up especially for comping I have autofill options so it takes me seconds to enter all my details. Just by double clicking the info appears.
I keep track of all the competitions I enter by thanking the poster that way when you go into your thanked posts you can see how many you have entered.
I know it sounds silly but 30 is a little on the low side. I know it takes up a hell of alot of time to enter 30 comps. What I do is imagine this is my job and give myself a target for the day.
Remember, the power of positivity! Stay positive and try to enjoy just entering for now. I read through the I won threads to keep me going.
You are doing really well. Its still early days! Some end dates on competitions are months away so you still may have a chance at winning past ones.
Sending you extra good luck :j Comping wins: Gig tickets, Lovemydog tag, Country Livings Christmas fair tickets
Freebies: Redken hair product, Cow teddy, Pebble grey illuminated compact mirror.0 -
