Getting very disheartened

Agree with Ellabeagle, Use auto fill and thanks to keep track, and don't enter everything just for the sake of it, just enter the things you want towin, and a bit of tenacity, for example ...... it's been half an hour now since last entered so time to enter the Sunday Times comp again ha ha, good luck and positivity all round.0

I always try to enter a variety of different competitions, email, twitter, facebook, website ones etc and make sure I don't just enter the ones with big wins - holidays, money etc. I also try where possible to enter the ones that need a bit more thought - I just won a £50 feel unique voucher for creating my 'London Fashion Week Look' using products from their site on Pintrest. I feel a lot of people won't be bothered to go that extra mile (I sometimes don't either if I'm having a lazy day!!)
Like someone said above, apply for freebies too, because it really does boost your moral when you get a little perfume or face cream sample through the post!
Just keep going, and don't let it get you down. You will eventually win something, and not matter how big or small the prize is, it'll feel great!!!

i got lucky and won a super mario 2 on the 3DS, been comping for 2 months just do it not expecting the win and it'll happen0

It took me a while to win anything big (Merlin's annual family pass) and at times I had convinced myself it was because of my Asian name, it was because my name is double-barrelled, it was because where I lived, it was because of how old I was etc.... It's all down to luck! Some are more lucky than others. There are people who have won 3 or more iPads, phones etc... and people like me who dream of their first iPad win, lol.
Keep trying, that's all you can do and hopefully the comping fair will come along sooner hopefully rather than laterYou'll have to speak up; I'm wearing a towel0 -
Try entering some facebook competitions, theres lots on there. I used to do quite well on them. I stopped entering loads on there as my pc cant handle it with the new feed changes. good luck though. xWishing you all good luck!

Thanks everyone for your replies and advice. I'm doing about 30 comps a day through here and then every week do the take a break, chat and that's life ones. Will try and remain positive and send out those good vibes and maybe someday :j Will definitely post once I have my first win. This may sound silly but it's not because I have a foreign sounding name is it, or because I have a yahoo email address? I know clutching at straws but just trying to up my chances. Although there's not much I can do to change my name
All the best everyone and thanks again for reading my moan, it helps to know I'm not alone
Hi, yes I agree with others - you need to just stay positive. I also think 30 comps a day is very little though. When I first started out I entered about the same, but as I picked up speed and confidence in what I was doing I started entering more and more and began winning more and more. - I must admit I do win a lot now but I must enter 100s a day and put a lot of time into comping - I do dailies, weeklies, FB, blog and Twitter comps. I defo think the more you enter the more you win.
Also I think there are far more compers now (and cheaters who enter multiple times) so the odds of winning have lessened much, especially this past year. Just carry on and take every win as a bonus and keep your chin up ! - good luck
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
keep going!!
As you will see from my sig I only started in Jan and it took a while before I got anything... but my first win was some bose speakers worth £300, so I was well chuffed with that.
I had a break over the summer as I've moved house and been looking after the little monsters, but I started again in August and have already won a weekend away and some perfume worth £60... Its a bit like buses you will find.
I don't actually enter that many comps compared to some. I only enter pretty big prizes and things I really want or know someone would really like it (I've sent a good friend to a show in London and my brother to Brighton), so I don't expect to have a long list of £5 vouchers and chocolate bars as I just don't have the time to enter everything and I don't have time to enter dailies either, although this is supposed to be a good way of getting wins.
Also check when it says 'effort' I used to ignore them, but sometimes its not much effort at all. Also go for comps where there are lots of winners.. even if its a crap prize I think you will a bit better if you win something.
Remember it can take a while for the company to contact you too.. I've tried changing my tactic slightly since I've been back to sorting by end date ... but I also enter new ones too .. I just tick the green box to make sure I don't dupe myself.2012 wins = £933 :j
2013 wins so far = £4,025 :j
July wins: Holiday to Marbella :j0 -
I enter comps as a way to pass the time. I also have a chat to people on here. Any wins I get are a bonus. I was disheartened at first too for a bit until I made a post on here then I won a couple of things. I get through the dry spells by looking at other ways to get free stuff. Look at the Freebies board or do some surveys. Just look at comping as a hobby and something to do to fill out that hour or 2 you have spare.Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday
Best Wins: Ipad, Nintendo 3DS, £400 Shopping Spree at LK Bennett, £100 Boots vouchers
Total Wins (Since April 2012) £3442.56
Big thanks to all who post comps :T:beer:0 -
I too feel your pain - I have been doing this since February - I've won a razor (for my OH), a really bright orange jaffa t-shirt and a pair of teletext flip flops.
But for some mad reason, I still keep going.............try to stay positive (I say that through gritted teeth, as it's hard sometimes).0
