    Thanks Beanie :)

I came to the realisation today that had I not been daft in the past I'd have a pretty comfortable life now & that's something I'm keeping in mind. I've noticed that other people put money aside each month so they have something to look forward to (& I do understand that feeling) but getting to a pay day when every penny is mine is enough for me.

  • I like this idea on letters. I truly believe we need to be asking for more of what we are owed. I lost £4 in a photo booth last week.. a phone call to the company and my money was on route back to me PLUS the cost of the call.

Good on you - I will be interested to see what they say!

    Well done Kat!

I just feel that I shouldn't be out of pocket (& humiliated!) because of Halifax's error. I'll let you know when I hear back!!

  • Never let them make you feel humiliated!! I have my fingers crossed for you.. on a happy note ( and hopefully the karma will stretch ) - I wrote to a company and returned a product that was the wrong size and WAY over their 30 day free return policy. I wrote a nice note and was sent a replacement, in the correct size with no quibble...

    See you just never know!

  • Yeah I always try and kill them with kindness!

I just spoke to Halifax about Friday and they are giving me £25! :D The petrol and whatnot came to around £8 so the extra is a good will gesture and basically an apology. Well done Halifax! :)

Next I've got to call them back regarding my credit card apr...

  • Damn & blast! No joy on the APR call. The operator was really lovely but was clear that for the life of the balance they wouldn't be able to reduce the APR. I'm not sure if she's right...!? Anyway I will have another go next week & see if I get somewhere.

Annoyed!! Really though they would reduce it.

Welcome Beccie! Wow you're debt mission is going rather well - 91%!!! Well done!

I'm creeping off home in a moment and I will not stop off at the supermarket. Instead it's pasta on pasta tonight with a side of pasta. Well OK, a lot of cheese :D

Depressed myself a bit on the way home. Spotted a nice car in the car park at work and realised it belongs to someone who probably earns a good £10k less than me but they are obviously loads better with money :(.

I reeeeally want a new car but don't worry, I'm not going to be daft. When I'm debt free I'm going to save up & be a good girl forever & ever!!

On an unrelated side note - I'm actually looking forward to getting my credit card statement & finding out how much interest I've shaved off by all the extra payments. I used to just rip the bill in half and recycle it!

  • ....or that person could have bought it with a very stupidly large loan to impress people and will kick themselves in 5 years when they realise how much its depreciated..?:D
