As the debt gets smaller it seems easier to pay off and you never know you may get a pay rise / bonus / higher paid job so you can pay more off and then start saving for the trip!

I've never been to NY, would love to go too!
  • NY sounds GOOD!! I want to visit family in Oz...

  • Soooo my spending is definetly linked to my mood. I had an AWFUL day at work. Ended up bursting into tears on the way home :( I ended up at the supermarket & bought Mumford&Sons album, a belt, a cider & a fancy pizza. I wouldn't have bought any of that if I was feeling normal.

Not sure what I'm going to do. I actually love my job & boss but the environment is hard. My coworkers are next to useless & as a cocky as it sounds I know that if something needs doing right I do it. It's not motivating after 3 years. Ho hum. At least it's the weekend.

  • We all have hard days - you can't beat yourself up. I say take the album back though....though eat and be merry but non-essentials you can do without no?.. its hard having a rubbish work environment.. other way round for me.. I feel useless but know I am capable of MUCH more...

  • :wave:Hey,

Sorry to hear you had a bad day I'm exactly the same I have a very stressful job and bad days = wanting to treat myself.

Do you have spotify? There is a free version you have to listen to adverts every couple of songs but does the job, it's good for listening to new albums and see if you like it or not. I've been trying to treat myself for free by having a big baths/pampering sessions with the box full of stuff i've collects from christmas presents etc over the years... You won't feel guilty after and will be nice and relaxed.

Hope tomorrows a better day xxx

  • Thanks guys! I'm feeling a lot better today & I know next time I'll go straight home!!

I'm taking darling boyfriend out for lunch as he paid for curry. Nothing fancy, just Nandos :). Then we're going to have a look at lots of fancy stuff in John Lewis. Don't worry I won't be tempted! It's going to motivate me (I hope!).

:j Yey! Just found some Spendaholics episodes on YouTube. Remember that show from bbc3? Some good tips picked up already.

Maybe getting out cash for food is the way & my current account is solely for direct debits & CC is the way forward? Means I could... dum dum duuuuuuum...leave my debit card at home

    Hi Mockingjay

Just read your diary through and I had to comment, you really remind me of myself, I also love New Girl and have had to brand down from my Stila cosmetics.

I used to love Spendaholics, but the counselling bloke really creeps me out. There's one episode where he's got some poor woman bellowing 'what about me!' at her old school playground, it makes me cringe everytime. My favourite of these programmes was Bank of Mum and Dad, I think it got a re-run recently on Really so look out for it, it's hilarious.

Getting to the point... I've decided to ditch my debit card this month and try tp live on £70 a week (I don't drive though). I figure all my money's been going somewhere whilst I've been kidding myself that by paying by card means the pennies get saved rather than liquidising a tenner and spending the change because it's there, so it's time for a new tack.

  • Yes!! He is really creepy! I keep thinking he's going to go in for a snog any moment!

Yeah I'm completely the same with paying by card. Hopefully using each cash will make us stop & think about every purchase!!

Regarding Stila, they sell off their old palettes in Poundland! It's so random but every few months they turn up! I'm now using Wake Me Up Rimmel foundation & it's actually great!

Good luck Fudge! Do you have a diary?

  • Ooh, good tip. I can't say I relish the prospect of going into Poundland though, anywhere like that scares me a bit. But as that's probably led to my debts, I need to get over myself.

I see you've found my diary... you'll notice I managed not to put, 'You remind me of me, before I went crazy'. :rotfl:I'm hoping the mood is going to be a lot lighter from here on in.
