Taxi Company ringing me up for Money

Options
Hi All,

Today the phone calls have started from a local taxi office!!

I'm not going to mention the taxi office in case they use these forum's, but they are wanting me to pay £150 for a taxi which i didn't get!

They have now said they will be round tomorrow for the payment, the journey in question they said is from my address based in Hornchurch Essex, to Coventry Railway Station, that was meant to be on a account, but they account people said it wasn't there!!

But whoever has said this, has put my address!! and must of stood outside my house as they said it was at 4am!!

What's my best option to do?

Wonder if they have a record of the number the cab was ordered from....

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?
  • I would think that unless they can prove it was you, you won't be liable for it.

If it was on account, then most Taxi companies have a password to use it. Do you actually have an account with this company?

Them saying they will come round to collect it definitely sounds threatening! Don't answer the door!
  • The account was under Barking College, and the number the person has gave was my landline number as we are not ex directory; and the fact i used to go to Barking College as a Student,
  • That's quite a long journey. Surely the driver will be able to tell in an instant whether or not it was you who was sat in the back of his cab all that time?!

They gave that number but can't have called from it unless it was a mate having a prank that's gone wrong. It might still be that if the caller didn't withold their number. You might actually recognise it...

If you are intimidated when he calls, then do so.

Police will no doubt say "It's a civil matter". They must have those words sewn into their helmets...

Why would they say that to someone asking for their help over someone intimidating them at their home?
