A breach of contract is a breach of contract it does not make the breach unlawful. The level of charge for the breach is the unlawful element of the contract. Please see previous posts reference the background to this issue.
Referring back to the few quid. There is a whole thread discussing how to make 8 pound on your savings for christmas, thats what this site is about either small or large savings in expenditure.
How many more times do you need to have the basics explained regarding this site and the issue of bank charges?0 -
Do you only charge what it costs you?
No didnt think so
What do you do if someone doesnt pay you? I dont suppose you say oh you poor thing I will let you off because you cant mmanage money anyway do you?Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
What you and defender of the weak charge is irrelevant. The law permits charging only of actual costs for a contract breach. Breaches cannot be made a profit center, presumably in part to discourage writing contract minefields that continually trap consumers into paying charges. And that fair contract objective is more than ample legislative reason for the prohibition on making a profit from breaches.
The banks and some others have acted contrary to the clear meaning of the law in making contract breaches a profit center. It's long past time for them to recognise that they are prohibited from doing so.
You have a nice line in ad-hominem arguing but it's hardly a fruitful way to discuss a subject. If you think that it will encourage contracts which are fair to consumers to allow contract breaching to be a profit center, simply say so and be done with it. Or if you think that it's a good idea to allow contracts which aren't fair to consumers, say that instead.0 -
absolutebounder wrote: »I do love the terminology "unlawful chargers" No mention of the unlawful breach of contract that preceded the unlawful charge. Most of these so called unlawful charges were in the contracts you signed up for and what you dont seem to cotton on to is that you get all bitter and twisted over someone charging a few quid more than you expected when you started it in the first place. You spend all this time trying to claim it back. then think you have won a major battle when the bank pays you off. In reality the bank does this because its less trouble to pay than mess about fighting because it knows it will get you later on other fees and charges. Meanwhile you run around like scrouge with a pittance compared with what you will pay the bank over a life time
I DO THINK HIS COMMENTS ARE VERY FUNNY THEY KEEP ME AMUSED :rotfl: :rotfl:
ANYWAY AS HE REALLY HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE IS REALLY GOING ON ABOUT AND WHO HE IS REALLY TRYING TO HAVE A GO AT AFTER ALL HE REALLY DOESN'T KNOW WHO I AM OR WHAT I DO.
HE OBVIOUSLY ONLY READS WHAT HE WANTS TO READ AND AS FOR CHARGES IN THE CONTRACT YOU SIGN WHEN YOU JOIN A BANK I DON'T REMEMBER SEE ANY LIST OF CHARGES IN THE "CONTRACT" I SIGNED.
CAN ANYONE ELSE FIND THEM I CAN'T
PERHAPS HE'S ON THE WRONG SITE AND MISREAD THE NAME AS MONEY WASTING EXPERT.COM
AFTER ALL HE DOESN'T NEED ANYMORE MONEY HE'S A MILLIONAIRE :rotfl:
AS FOR THE HALIFAX AND NATWEST GETTING THEIR CHARGES BACK IN THE FUTURE I DON'T THINK SO AS I NO LONGER BANK WITH THEM THEY WERE BUSINESS ACCOUNTS.
DID YOU NOT KNOW THAT YOU COULDN'T PROFIT OUT OF A BREACH, WHY DO YOU THINK MORTAGEGS COMPANIES ONLY SELL REPOSSESIONS FOR WHAT IS OWED ON THE MORTGAGE.My Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.
If you don't like it well you will just have to lump it!0 -

Just remember while you are getting all hot and bothered writing to banks, scrimping and saving your pennies from these charges. I will be laid out on the beach somewhere in eastern Cyprus for most of the days in summer. Although my sun tanning will start next month in Morocco with a little seminar to pay for it all, followed by 8 nights in a beach hotel.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
