True. You can select from Windows Phone, Android, Black Berry as well as iPhone, not including some basic phones.
The Amazon may also release its phone with Amazon App Store.
Seem enough choice.
With Windows Phone and teblets coming soon, it is going to be 3 to 4 main players0 -

interesting. most people i have spoken to expected more
I think the thing with iPhones and IOS is what you dont get today, you get tomorrow. For more reasons than id care to explain, it would take a disaster of a phone now for me to have not purchased it, it isnt. (yet). it was unlikely to have been. SO it could have been an Iphone 4s with 128gb and I still would have had it, as I have been waiting for a new one for ages, the Iphone4s just seemed to be like the 4, which i didnt want... I like the idea of the slate back, thin, long and the right size in my hand, ticks a lot of boxes for me.Plan

The thing had been so heavily leaked, I thought most people knew what was coming about 8 weeks ago...
as in expected Apple to produce a better phone, than surprised by what was released0 -
Steve Jobs was a visionary, Tim Cooke is a production man. In terms of innovation Apple may have jumped the shark. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

What about those with an iPhone 4, not 4S.
I eagerly awaited the iPhone 5 but feeling a bit underwhelmed about it so far. Really wanted a larger screen but it's not that much bigger.
I have had a 4 since July 2010. When my colleague got a 4S last year we compared:- No discernible speed difference doing normal stuff. we both ran the same processor intensive game and it appeared exactly the same.
- The 8MP camera is better on the 4S, but the 5MP on the 4 is no slouch.
- Exactly the same design and retina display.
- Siri is available on the 4S but is a joke and no-one I know with a 4S thinks it is any good or uses it.
Basically I think whether upgrading from a 4 or 4S it is still a comparable jump (i.e not a very big one).
Like you I am feeling underwhelmed by the launch and now have no intention of upgrading as I still like my 4, it was way ahead of the competition 2 years ago, and does everything I need, so I will be keeping it on a £9 /month Virgin rolling contract until something worthwhile comes out.
Basically, if you haven't had an iPhone before and want one now, then you may as well get the 5 if the price premium over the 4S isn't too great, but think of it as a 4S+,
If you have a 3GS then maybe worth it too. But otherwise I would wait it out and/or consider alternatives.
The only positive thing I have taken from the launch is there are a couple of features in IOS6 which look interesting, but everyone from 3GS on will be getting that anyway, so even less of an incentive!• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0
