Like many others I received one of their "gift" congrats this morning. I decided to call them first blocking my number. Spoke to Rebecca on a local number 01945 640002. I was asked for my post code - fine they already have that and my house number - again they have that. Then my name - no way. Then told that i had won a gift in a random address draw but would not be asked to complete any surveys. Girl asked me to hold whilst she checked what prize I had won, then the phone went dead. "gift" is now in the shredder. My advice is if you feel tempted to phone them don't give them any information.0

I got one in the post this morning, again addressed to Ms/Mrs and the address, advising me that I've been allocated one of at least43 local gifts...
I've got until the24th Feb to claim, but why is there no date stamp on the envelope ? Surely even if the envelopes are franked they should have a date on...
Mine will be going into the bin now...0 -
Thank you all for your experiences, I too was taken by how authentic it looked. In the bin with it....0

I just won a gift..... I wonder what that could be. Hmmmm being a bit psycic, I can sense that it's something to do with being healthier... Wait I see it now, it's a gym membership... Well I'm going to return their wonderful gift certificate with a "kind" note on their comp slip oh and I may just forget the stamps. I may even add a few extra bits to give it some more weight... Who's laughing now.. Scammers beware, I'm on the warpath...... :mad:0

Hi, I have received the lil' blue slip (envelope addressed to Mr/Mrs) and all that has been explained before. I'm not normally taken in by these things but as it was a local number (01925 - Warrington, Cheshire) I called it. I got through and was put on hold while they 'checked' which prize I'd won. The phone went dead and I became suspicious so immediately called back to confront them. The most charming man answered the phone and after I asked a few questions made me believe that I had
"won a premium membership worth £750 at a 1st Class Fitness Gym"
"the gym is on the site of the old David Lloyd centre" he then gave a street name nearby.
After whittering on for 3 mins or so he then divulged that it was for 2 people. I'm ashamed to say I was completely taken in and very excited!
Anyway, luckily I'm a bit of a cynic at heart so thought it best to dig around on t'internet.......searched all the gyms in Warrington and while there were several similar names there were none listed for 1st Class Fitness. Suspicions raised! Then went onto David Lloyd website and sure enough they are still based on the same site in Warrington that they have been for the past 5ish years.
Further investigations have led me here - thanks so much for posting this, I'm so relieved at unearthing the scam. My only worry now is that I called the number twice and I worry that I will have been charged an extortionate rate. Does anybody know how I can find out what I was charged for the calls? (from a BT landline).
Thanks in advance0
