Not me Helen, although I do have an iPod with a built in pedometer. It's far from perfect, but it gets the general idea of correct distances. Was wondering what if anything a fancy gadget would actually do to encourage me to exercise more? At the end of the day, only getting off the couch does anything, tracking steps etc. is just data...

I've got a garmin watch and I love it. Does make me run up and down the street occasionally just to get it to finish off a mile :D

Yeah, doing pedometer challenge again at work. I literally will stand marching to round it up...
I do like the thought of a Garmin but feel quite motivated anyway so not sure what it would add. My runs are 4 a week, and my indoor ones are getting faster, outdoor getting longer.

Thank goodness everyone returned to own homes. Last night was up there as v painful. Very over excited loud teens all night. With a few tears thrown in. Suspect lots of naps happening now.. My Sunday run now postponed till pm as need to eat and drop oldest at concert band. Usually nip whilst everyone is sleeping but don't think anyone did.... My need a nap later too..

Hope your run goes well Helen. I only managed 7.5k today but wanted a faster run and enjoyed it more as felt a lot stronger. Also means I won't need a days recovery so could potentially shred tomorrow.

A few people have recommended a garmin to me. My map app doesn't always track my full run which is incredibly frustrating.

You really are doing so well with your running, especially with the cardiac thing. Is that getting better?

My echo was normal. Still get chest tightness at least once a day but I don't let it stop me, spookily I don't ever notice when running, although occasionally feel fluttery. Not sure if it's because I now notice it rather than a new thing but still feel very tired / fatigued on almost daily basis, but apart from some slightly earlier nights, I again just try to ignore. I don't think getting up at 5.30 every weekday helps. I can't unfortunately sleep in, I have completely lost the ability, which is frustrating.

Just did 6mile but slow as Dave's hurt his hip and we generally run together on a sunday. Agree cathT, a fast run is a different challenge and I like the variety.

I love my garmin. I have a heart strap with it and take a record of my average and maximum heart rates, it is great watching the figures come down slowly as I get fitter. It also encourages me to do some slow/low heart rate runs which has helped me to run faster in the long run. The other good thing is it measures how far I have run.

That would be useful. I also like the thought of running through trails and still being able to record distance and speed.
