Big family wedding yesterday, was lovely. Had a fantastic day and it was brilliant to see everyone, although a few did actually say they didn't recognise me and had so many really nice comments about my healthier self. Wedding was at 12 and didn't eat till 5pm (that must be a record), I am very food focused so really struggled with this, I did have an Apple and a banana at 11ish to try and see me through, but I was thinking more like 2pm. Dancing all night so hoping that neutralized the 5 glasses of wine and wedding cake...

Kids only just surfacing, although home very late. Mum and dads wedding anniversary in a few weeks (golden) so have just uploaded a picture to be a canvas of us (mum, dad, brothers and me) as think will make a nice present.

  • Must be a great feeling to meet people you haven't seen for a while. Well done on both types of pound reduction!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Pleased you had a lovely time at the wedding...... so nice that you got some compliments too - shows that the hard work doesn't go unnoticed....

    Have a lovely weekend
  • Thanks sss and lula. Yes, felt brilliant, especially when told that I was glowing with health. Think Majorca tan may have helped. I work in such a big place, everyday I still get comments, which is very motivating.

Need to get morgage 1 down for its end of fixed rate next year, so I can pay it off, so extra £400 op this month.

Wedding sounds fab, well deserved compliments too. Canvas wedding gift is a lovely idea, getting a family canvas done is something I never get around to doing!

You're doing fab with this mortgage, really shows the benefits of overpaying.

  • Thanks cathT, it's a real change to actually love the photos of myself, as they appear from various sources on fb.

Worked out need to pay extra £155 a month to get morgage 1 paid off by end of fixed term, which is early next year (on top of current monthly op). So extra push now to get that one paid.

I bet you will find that extra £155, free months council tax after Christmas may help? Noticed you have 5lb to target, you can encourage me as I have 4-5lb left and lose weight soooo slowly! I'm talking about 2 weeks to lose 0.5lb!!!

  • Same here now, have finally kicked another 1lb this week, after a sts last week. Not sure whether to head down and beat the last 4, or enjoy this new slower approach. My thinking is I'm now eating how I will forever.

  • Standing orders jiggled for next month, an extra £155 which makes everything tighter but so looking forward to losing one of our 3 morgage policies (or further advances)

Shopping, bought dd1 &2 New coats, and myself a new frock for Christmas, not sure but Dd1 adamant that it's gorgeous, was a £30 tk max find. Am still undecided cos it just looks far to posh for me, not sure will feel right in it. It's like a black layered skirt bottom with white top part, then silver jewelled collar. Dd2 old coat not wanted, so tried it on and its tighter than I would buy but I can get in and fasten up. It's a size 6, I suspect a BIG size 6 if I can get in it.

Spinning this morning, gym this pm whilst girls at music, and on leaving discovered flat tyre, Dave swapped it but now I need to sort that. Car mot also still to book. Plus swimming reenrol is this week, also paid music teacher, and wrote dd1 ski trip monthly cheque.

Plan on lbt in am before kids wake up, friend for brew, then later whilst dd2 swimming, aerobics and cx works.
