Hi HDK, have been catching up with your diary and not sure why I hadn't found it before! This is clearly where all the HUTH fans are, thought I was alone in my love of it! Did get me a bit obsessed looking for cracks in the house at one point though.
Really enjoyed your diary, I also work for NHS but only a band 5 but have also just done my MSc (well half of one) and retrained so if find a post will be a 6! You sound like a fab manager who doesn't mind getting stuck in, how you juggled all those shifts was beyond me though.
Well done on your weight loss too, you sound like a new woman!
Well done on all your OP's too - nearly forgot that bit
Thank you cathT, I am definitely a huth groupie, I have extended my love to George Clarke. I would love to do another renovation but it's hard work.
I think the key joy of being a sister is the sheer variety that job provides, today for example, performance meeting, governance meeting, got trained on new budget order system, met with contractors 're opening our old ward this weekend(currently decanted due to ceiling collapse), email clearing, matron catch up, shortlisted for some winter ward posts, spoke to some relatives, sorted staffing etc. But equally I can walk on the ward and need to clear my day and be clinical. I also am very protective of my ward and everything /everyone on it and do occasionally growl. Was described as fierce the other day but my boss says a more accurate description is formidable, not sure how I feel about that..
Having been told need to move ward on Saturday I am honestly shocked how many staff have offered to come in and help.
Good luck with msc, I'm so glad I've finished. It's definitely a stepping stone in terms of career progression. Just been told I have to do my Als again in November and already dreading it.
I still can't believe how much thinner I am, feeling fantastically healthy and loving clothes shopping, just hoping it can be maintained, I'm still actively calorie counting.
Thanks for kind words xMorgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Weight now back to pre holiday, so 4 stone 1lb. Whilst away did seem to notice other ladies tummies, and have come to the conclusion that clearly not in top 10% however I am feeling that it's not in the bottom 50% either and therefore it's clearly not as horrific as I perceived. So I need to let it go whilst still getting that last 6lb off, i am not hung up on it. So I am happy with my weight (wow, who'd have thought I could say that)
Day off, still having sleeping children. Done a big aldi shop, 2 loads on line and current accounts done. Officially overspent however didn't use savings for holiday money so feel that's not too bad. Will take a month or so to fully recover.
May do some school shopping later if can get kids out of their beds.
Working Friday and Saturday so taking it easy today as feeling a bit tired from night flight and then 2 early starts.
Can I confess currently watching huth....Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

One of the things I miss most about weekday days off! Well done on maintaining weight post hols. I've not thought about return to school shop yet, did recently buy new summer dresses for DD so have a feeling her pinafores will be tiny on her. I see an expensive shopping trip and that's just for one. Have all the years buying stationery still to comeJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
So agree cathT. A day off isn't a day off without huth. It's the law.
I did go through a period of taping it on the sky box but that seems to be taking it too far.
Thanks cathT, was really nervous about going away as a bit scared I'd put loads on. I didn't calorie count but still tried to make the better choices. I even went for a run one morning, and tried to ensure we walked after tea every night.
Didn't do very well shopping wise, trousers for dd1 & 2, shoes for dd2, failed on every thing else. Did end up with various none school items though. At least don't need pe kits or blazers this year. Bought all new school bags before we went away.
Actifry'd courgette, Swede and carrot tonight, was very nice with actifry'd potatoes and chicken / onions/ mushroom / gravy. Bonus as courgette s from garden and have loads. Have lunch box pot full for tomorrow's dinner.
Lbt tonight, but zumba cancelled, so used that time in gym. Struggled a bit this week in terms of energy levels. Last night my sway arms in aerobics where more like drift arms.Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Hope it goes well :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Hope it goes well and there are plenty of hands on deck to help. Hope it's one of those things where the thought of it is worse then the event. Am sure it will go smoothly.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Cream crackered. Left at 7 and its been none stop. Last cage emptied and finally home. Had emergency Alpen porridge and 3 butterfly cakes for tea, not very healthy but ache all over so I'm sure I'm calorie ok. All patients on ward by lunch which was really good. Have fantastic team.Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!
