Off today, sneaky weigh in and another 1 lb off. My goal was 2 stone by end of March so pleased. Would like another 2 stone by August which feels achievable. Boot camp today plus all hairs cut and grey covered. Up early and spent all day cleaning so how looks so much nicer.

Big boy so much better, he had still a little limp.

Thanks Lois. 3 lb more than my goal 1, so feeling pleased (albeit long way to go). Daves lost 20lb and goal 1 stone so he is also really pleased. Now fit in several size 14 things so definitely heading in the right direction.
Test will be Easter hols, have much planned and will definitely push the diet, I'm going for the do the best I reasonably can and fix it after Easter as feel quite stressed about the damage it will do to my progress, as up to yet lost every week and that is most definitely not happening over Easter.

Finding MFP success storys so motivating. The temptation to buy SW magazines is sorted when I go on MFP.

Pay day was better than usual due to old Nora providing me with no staff so lots of OT. Next month should be free of extra wages deductions as will have paid off the HR error.

Managed to get the school / work clothes washed and ironed so let the holidays begin.... Not back at work till 2 weeks on Thursday....

Ooooh I do wish I could just melt off the lbs! Seriously well done Helen, I can't believe you've made such a big change so quickly and with such instant results. It really shows it can be done if you are determined.

I haven't been quite so determined lately... whoops!

    Enjoy the holidays!!

Thanks FD. I lost weight before (all back on and some...) 3 1/2 stone, took me 10 months, so I knew I could do it but does feel quicker and easier this time, despite my mate saying it would be harder as I'm now "older". I definitely feel focused and absolutely determined I'll shift it this year, as its the one area in my life that I'm not nappy with, so needs to be addressed. The hardest bit will be maintaining, but still a long way to go before I get to do that. I do think that the first bit is the worst, up until you start seeing the difference and then you get the nice comments and its such a boost. I couldn't do a group / class though, it's just not me.

Helen, you and Dave are both doing so well! Reading your thread is like a blimmin' exercise blog these days :rotfl:

Fitting into clothes that you've outgrown is a fantastic achievement, I have had a bad habit in the past of just going an inch or two bigger on the trousers and telling myself 'that's life'. Have now managed to be static (or a bit lighter than previously) for close to two years :)

Not quite... my stomach is horrible but at least I can see it shrinking now. Its amazing how much better you feel about yourself though. I feel more attractive which is a start.

I agree Ed, its those little sneaky pounds.

Went to gym today, did 95 mins cardio, my last bit being a mile run, its slowly getting easier...

Seeing you are a medical type do you think this is true or do folk just accept it as inevitable as Ed said? I'm very curious about this as I'm wondering if it's only inevitable as most of us eat a wee bit more than we should and could easily go up so gradually it's only around 40 we panic as it's gotten quite marked by then. Or does our metabolism drop or do we just sit more?:rotfl::rotfl:

Seems to vary a lot between my friends and family but does make me curious...

Congrats on getting into your older clothes but it's at that point I usually wonder why I saved mine:o

My overall general physical health isn't as good and my skin isn't as bouncy as it was.... but I think we just accept its harder and therefore use it an excuse not to bother trying imo. I think now, I've done it before I can do it again, but this time I know a lot of the mistakes so can avoid them, I also know that if I cheat I am only cheating myself.
