    WW beanielou xx.

I'm making a start on the reports now ...... I will try not to make this mistake again ........

Was just reading this on Yahoo,

"Hundreds of residents, displaced last week, had to spend last night in shelters run by state officials.

Lorraine Orobello left her home in the middle of the storm because she had run out of food.

The 54 year-old said she had been turned away from the federal food station and had turned to another aid centre for help.

"It's hard. All I want is some soup or a peanut butter sandwich."

None of us are immune to these 'Acts of God?' It made me think that in September my goal was to build up a store cupboard and a grab bag for each of the family, I should get mum organised too. I still have not done it, but I really want to get this in place by the end of November.

It really takes very little for all the banks to shut and the supermarkets and petrol stations to be cleared of food and fuel.

In this part of Scotland, two years ago, a couple of foot of snow made roads impassable for about a week, but fortunately supplies got through.

I am so glad there are aid stations out there, and people are not having to completely fend for themselves, but it does no harm as the boy scouts say to 'be prepared!'

Will somebody keep nagging me to ensure I get this done? xxx.

    Good morning world!

Another busy day today, but I am meeting up, this afternoon, with a mum who has a DS the same age as my DS, so we are going to have a coffee and a gossip, while they swim. I am really looking forward to it, as it's a long time since we have seen each other.

In case anyone is concerned about dear auntie or dear dad, in the event of a disaster, (and you guys have some of the biggest hearts on the internet), please don't be!

Dear auntie, is a thrifty Scot, another very capable, pre-war babe, who has two freezers stocked full of food, and a cupboard full of tins, capable of feeding the entire neighbourhood, and a big enough heart to do just that.

A pillar in the community, she just left the local CAB, last year, after working there for twenty years, following her retirement. She could not get on with the new management, and left after giving them a good dressing down :rotfl:.

She also happens to live in an exclusive, gated community, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, next to a top politician, who she is friendly with. In the event of a cataclysm, auntie is probably in the safest place .

Dear dad is not long back from cruising the Caribbean, on a luxury liner, with his lovely, much younger, second wife ;), who takes very good care of him.

He is a brilliant organiser; a former director of a Scottish bank, who believes that the demise of the whole banking system began, when he took his hand off the tiller, to retire, twenty years ago.

He is also very community minded and the epitome of the words, "be prepared". In the event of a disaster, in his area, he would organise all the golf veterans, into a modern day dad's army and ensure that the 'old folks' and people with disabilities, got taken care of first.

His dear wife, is the primary carer, for her brother who is a quadraplegic, and a disability activist.

Dear auntie and dear dad, are just the sort of people you would want around in a crisis, and are still in a position where they could be the ones making a difference.

Dear mum, manages on a basic pension and her health is deteriorating rapidly, so for the moment, my focus will be on supporting her. In truth, my sisters live near her, in England, and are very good to her too.

Enough of my waffling, four more mystery shops to write up.

    TTFN xxxxxx.
