to sing or not to sing?

Right I need some views, I like singing always have done however never had lessons or done anything about it. Would like to maybe get some and sing in a band/choir for fun

However, my husband says I can't sing and then at times says I can so I don't actually know how I sound I can't judge my own voice lol

I've just literally thrown this together very quick, and recorded it on my phone and I forgot most of the words so it is far from my best lol ( excuses excuses I know lol )

Honestly now whats the verdict

i haven't listened to your voice - but honestly, if you want to join a choir and sing for fun, do it :). I've been in choirs and know people who are in adult choirs, some of them don't have the best voices at all but they are still welcome and theres still a place for them.
  • I’ve certainly heard worse.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

Well first of all, I can't sing, at all, not even a little bit - therefore I don't. I would say that you have a really nice voice, you can sing and you could definitely do it 'for fun'. I think if you had a few lessons and a bit of guidance then you would have an amazing recordable voice.

Yeah, I would say you can sing. And if you have lessons or join a choir you'll get more practised at it or learn techniques, etc. If it's something you enjoy, go for it!
  • I haven't listened to your recording because it wouldn't chnage my advice: so sing for fun!! You don't need to be a fab singing to singing in your average choir.
I joined a choir a few years ago, and I'm no great shakes at singing but it is wonderfully uplifting and enormous fun and with practice in the group everyone gets better anyway.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I think you've got a nice voice and should go for lessons and be guided there.

Don't let anyone stop you from doing it, if that's what you want. There was a guy on X factor who had put off applying for 5 years because people told him he wasn't good enough and it eventually sapped his confidence. He had a lovely voice.

    Best of luck.

    You can sing.

Go for it, join that choir or whatever.

Any chance f a different song on utube? That one did not do u justice. I'd say you could belt something out if u tried.
  • Singing in a choir is great fun and good to meet different people. it's also good for you in other ways, lifts your spirits, keeps you fit to some extent, as good posture and proper breathing all help.
Pick your choir well. Ther are lots that don't audition you and some that do. Most choirs are happy for you to try out a couple of rehearsals before committing yourself. Costs vary- you may need to pay a subscription, buy uniform and music - and this can vary enormously.
I sing in two choirs and love it. We also get to sing at weddings, luncheons and other events from time to time. Enjoy!

At present you're not gonna win the X Factor but you can carry a tune and have a very sweet tone to your voice.

If you enjoy it - do it!

Plus if you did join a choir your voice would get stronger and improve as would your confidence in your voice.

Then again you stuck it out there on Youtube which in my book is very brave and deserves a round of applause!

    Well done :-)

I can't sing to save my life, it's so bad I can hear it myself. :o You missed quite a few notes but you have a nice tone so IMO just need a few lessons, definitely join a singing group or choir.
