Quite so. Every time I log in to internet banking to check on my Vantage accounts, they tell me they're offering me a loan, a Cash ISA and car breakdown insurance. But not a word about 4% on my current accounts.

But if you go directly to the LTSB homepage, the first thing you see is a big banner at the top saying "Earn up to a whopping 4% AER on your current account". Its clear they are after new customers first, and who can blame them. At least they are doing the decent thing and saying existing customers can have it also.

But not at a click of the mouse or phone call(no longer)?

You could never have it at a click of a mouse, and you can still get it via a phone call.

But I go directly to the login page. Doesn't everybody?

They've got the facility to put a customised ad-hoc advert/notice between the login page and the account overview page. We know this, because they often use it. They've decided not to use it for this.

Nope, I know someone who does pretty much the exact opposite - they open the web browser and then type in the full address, then click the "sign in" link. Apparently its safer than a bookmark that can be modified by a malicious application or script (I think I'd notice personally).

    No. I don't.

Husband & I both have Vantage accounts (3 each) but as one of his is his 'real' 'main' current account, I let him have the bookmarked login page :). On Chrome, you can only bookmark one Lloyds login page, so I use the Homepage and login from there.

He doesn't realise, but I get to see all the offers updates before he does :rotfl: -but then he doesn't read MSE either
  • So - I rang and requested an upgrade in my Classic Vantage to Classic Vantage+.
They sent me documentation that implies that I have opened a new account called Classic Vantage - giving information on the "old" interest rates and inviting me (with an advert) to upgrade to the 4% Vantage !

There is nothing on the webpage to indicate that my Vantage has been upgraded, nor is there anything in the covering letter that says the same.

Is this what other folk has received ?

Yup, I got sent a rather thick envelope saying "Welcome to Vantage", even though I already had vantage, showing the 3% interest rate tier.

    Definitely 4% however.

How did you manage to confirm the 4%, if I may ask.
