What's wrong with 4.5% 4 year fixed.
0.5% extra to tie your money up for four years!!!!
I think most would rather have 4.00% and have unlimited immediate access without any penalties whatsoever.0 -
Completely the opposite to what I was told then - everyone stays on the 3% 'tariff' unless they request the 4% one, after which they place a 'token' on your account to state your eligibility and the system updates your account overnight.
Obviously there is some confusion somewhere, as the people who have requested the 4% will also (apparently) be receiving a letter stating such, along with a copy of the T&Cs.
Well, I've phoned back today and the advisor I spoke to said that the account does need to be updated (so am now on hold waiting to speak to the relevant dept).
Good job I didn't just take the word of the first advisor I spoke to on Monday else I would have transferred another £1000 in and then got no interest because I'd gone above the £5k mark.
As I've been typing I'm off hold and it's all been sorted and updated.0 -

Yes £500 is £500 but it won't even buy a family holiday to butlins.
I suppose it depends on if you think its worth it.
I spent a morning last week opening two regular savers paying 5% Gross at 2 different Building Societys.
It was an 85 mile round trip for me for £240approx net interest.
Was it worth it? I thought so.0 -

To some it would defiantly be worth it but I really don't think I would miss not having a fiver a week TBH.
But agree to many people it's worth it.0 -

It's immediate access to up to 3 x £6K, incl any accrued interest.BugsyBrowne wrote: »To some it would defiantly be worth it but I really don't think I would miss not having a fiver a week TBH.

Some people work on the premise that a fiver here and a fiver there and a couple of hundred elsewhere etc etc all add up.0 -
