Lloyds Vantage Accounts

I see that Lloyds have increased the interest rate on these accounts to 4% gross, maximum total in £6000.

If you already have Vantage accounts you can upgrade to this new rate too...only stipulation now is that you have to have two D/D's set up on each account.

Still can only have 3 accounts.

This apparently is a limited offer until Oct 31st.

You have to ring them via the number on the webpage: http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/vantage4.asp

After a few security questions, you can request the 'new vantage tariff' to be applied to your account.

I phoned them today and they said that as an existing vantage customer with direct debits I didn't need to do anything. In which case I couldn't really see why the website said that I had to phone. I need to call into the branch on Weds anyway so will double check before increasing my balance to near £6000.

This sounds great .... but 2 DDs on EACH account is going to be a bit of a stumbling block.

If it were 2x SOs then that'd be perfectly fine - couple of £500 switches between accounts, but direct debits? I don't have so many direct debits.

Any way around this as i'd like 3 accounts, but i don't have 6 direct debits.

If you have a PayPal account you could set up bank funding on there for each of your vantage accounts which would also set up a direct debit leaving you only needing to find one more direct debit for each account

Completely the opposite to what I was told then - everyone stays on the 3% 'tariff' unless they request the 4% one, after which they place a 'token' on your account to state your eligibility and the system updates your account overnight.

Obviously there is some confusion somewhere, as the people who have requested the 4% will also (apparently) be receiving a letter stating such, along with a copy of the T&Cs.

I was told exactly the same, though I think it is who you speak to. Initially I was told at the start of the day I could only "upgrade the vantage" on one vantage account. This changed to 3 vantage accounts later in the day.

You do have to call though, and they do have to enable it on the account.
