Well that's good news in one way. But something's obviously wrong and the sooner you find out what it is, the sooner Zara can start getting the right treatment.
Sorry but what's FR?0 -
Fitzpatric Referrals - where Zara had her hip replacement done.
I worry a lot about that as there does not seem to be any reason for the limp so I worry that this is gonna stay like that....sigh....0 -
Zara - flat out after her Xrays....

Looks like I am sleeping ... ermmmmm in cat basket?0 -

Poor little darling. Did she have a general anaesthetic for the X Rays? There must be SOME reason for the limping - don't let them fob you off.
You must be worried sick about all this...but thank God for pet insurance!0 -
Thanks - yes she had general anaestetics and yes I am worried sick...

How is she this morning? I'm hoping you will get some answers soon...I'm not surprised you're so worried.
I'm worried about her myself.0 -
She does not seem to be in any pain, she is not lame in any way. When she walks at normal peace - that is when she is limping and not putting whole weight on that leg
When she runs she does that bunny hop - keeping her back legs together.
I am waiting for my vet to send Xrays to FR and see what they say.
But my vet putting in the notes that she walks better pi... ed me off 9excuse my French) a lot as she does not.
My vet said he does not have much knowledge about hips so how did he come with this statement?0 -

It's so annoying when vets do this. I was furious with my vet when I lost my old dog. He'd done every test possible on my dog when he stopped eating, even kept him in for 3 nights, the bill was astronomical - again thank God for pet insurance - and concluded there was nothing wrong with my dog, he was just "being difficult"!!:( How stupid is that??
My dog's abdomen was swollen and I'd pestered the vet about it for months - he said it was just age related thickening.
I insisted on being referred to a vet teaching facility.
They found my poor dog was riddled with cancer, with a massive tumour on his spleen which had ruptured and was filling his abdomen with blood, and other tumours too.
The poor little guy couldn't be saved and I could've killed that stupid vet for all the chances he had to spot what was wrong, and blew it.
So needless to say, I don't take any messing from vets anymore. If I'm not happy with a diagnosis or treatment, I keep on pestering till they get it right.
My dogs depend on me to do that, and I know you feel the same about Zara.
Could you too get a second opinion about the limping?0 -
Oh dear.... so sorry to hear that...:( Poor dog and poor you....
Of course will get her back to FR.
Took her for Xrays to my local vets as the logistics of getting her to FR from where I am (I do nto drive) is just extremely complicated.
My vet will send the Xrays to FR and I will take Zara there in November as this years 7k insurance is completely gone.0 -

Does the next year's insurance start in November? It's such a relief, isn't it, to be able to get the best treatment for her. You would expect your vet to have a better idea of what's happening with Zara though. I do hope she's ok...I'm sure she will be.
I do hope she's ok.0
