Hi,
Does anyone have a decent recipe for the SW quiche? I've made it in the past and it always went sloppy :-(!
Today is green for me. I've had
HEX A) 250 ml semi
HEX A) 1oz cheddar
HEXwholemeal roll small - weighed!
I sliced a banana and had a banana sandwich at work - was yummy!
I've also had fruit and a muller Greek style (0.5), and 3 mini meringues - 3 (I think).
Hope everyone is well!x
ETA - am having HM wedges for tea with the grated cheese and maybe some chilli flakes.0 -
On our 'B' list is says that you can have 2 slices of hovis wholemeal bread from a small 400g loaf or you can have 60g of any wholemeal bread, 2 slices of hovis from a large 800g loaf is 60g.
This doesn't make sense!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -

Obviously, if she was out of pocket on the raffle then I suppose it's fair enough to try and get it back although she shouldn't have let it happen. Many of us have said that the raffle is self-funding: next week's prize comes from this week's takings. On the other purchases then I'd definitely say it's not up to members to pay. AFAIK there is an expected outlay when you take on SW (like lots of franchises/party plan things) and then you claw it back by getting as many paying members as you can as at least a percentage of the weekly subs must go to them. I've never been a consultant but I think evilsquid (and others) have some inside knowledge. It'll be interesting to hear an informed view.I think consultants only get 20% for under 35 members (target members are not included) but 40% over 35 members and possibly a higher % over a bigger number
ETA: It is a percentage of the subs we pay!
My consultant is new and is not making money at the moment (i think about 1 month ago she earnt 40p in one night )
They have to fork out for the plates/cups/cutlery for tasters etc. and teas and coffee (if your group has it) and the raffle - it is alot to pay for on 40p per week! :rotfl::eek:
As a side, i didn't go to group this week - after coming of the depo in April I am having the mother of all periods - must be pay back to not having them for 8 years!
theres quite a substantial outlay to buy the franchise then you earn back a % like Nessie says thats graduated towards how many members. they do expect you to put back into it like a proper business though and we were told to expect 20% of your earnings to go back into building the business so for advertising, buying certificates, taster days, the raffle etc.
its more about keeping members coming back than gaining new ones. the money isn't in the new ones - £14 outlay and were off with pretty much all we need to know on the plan and we need never attend again to "get" it.
I think the idea is in bigger groups the raffle prize pays for itself and any tea/coffee you offer members and that a Slimmer of the Week basket is also provided by members so not actually costing you out of profit. this is where the discrepancies comes in with certificates and badges/magnets. They are paid for once your original stash runs out as an extra and seen as "putting back in to keep members coming", not part of what SW will send you "free". i think the only "free" things really were food diary, FIT logs and SAS log pads!
EDIT: totally forgot Nessie - i know how you feel!! I've been on the pill for yonks and i genuinely cant remember my last star week. suddenly got one this week and all i want is sugar! normally i can take it or leave it but atm i just want to eat a house and all i want is sugar and choccy! been so long the self heating pad things for sticking on your stomach i used to get have been discontinued and i didn't even know! DH thought i was going mental when i was mooching around the pharmacy bit looking for self heating pads and swearing they were real and i didn't imagine them! :rotfl:0 -

Hello
I don't usually post here, but I have a nice SW quiche recipe.
Cook a packet of pasta n sauce using just water. (I use the chicken and mushroom one which I believe is free)
Mix 3 eggs with a tub of quark
Mix cooked pasta n sauce into egg/ quark mixture
Add super free veg, tinned spinach and frozen mushrooms go well ( of course you can use fresh!!)
Pour into a baking plan which has been sprayed with fry light
Cook for 35-40 mins on 140 degrees.
I sometimes top with sliced mini babybel light which are a healthy extra.
It sounds a bit dodgy, but I think it is really nice
I joined SW about 6 weeks ago and have lost 15.5lbs so far. Haven't been weighed for the past 2 Mondays, last week was my birthday and last night I went to the theatre so next weigh in is next Monday

Not sure if they are any use, but a friend buys lots of little things like bean bags, and they heat up for 8 hours! They aren't reusable, but she gave me one when we were at an open air cinema and it was fab... still warm in themorning!

DH has some of those for when he goes walking and airsofting. he wont let me have them as they are too expensive to be wasted on me putting them on my tummy apparently!
i had a bear that had one of those bean bags in that you put in the microwave and came out smelling like porridge, obv has now completely disappeared!
all i remembered about the pads was the ones i used to get were in a purple box and you got a few in there. i think they were part of a range Lil-Lets did with some sort of lavender vicks vapo rub stuff too! they were good because you could use them anywhere and they didn't need kettles or microwaves etc. ah well!0 -

I am terrible for sugar cravings at * week. I find Sweet potato pies and carrots raw curb it well.oopsadaisydoddle wrote: »Hi,

I use a 12 inch flan dish or line muffin tin when making SW friendly quiches.
Cottage Cheese, ham/bacon/peppers/onion, 3 eggs. Mix like mad.
Chuck in dish/tin. cook.
Cottage Cheese and Chives ff version is absolutely yummy for quiches.
Sorry I haven't been around, Back at Uni and year 4 is slightly more demanding! Lost 1lb last week - still going in the right direction.
It's 100 issue of the mag next week so apparently we're doing a taster week. :T0 -

Yeah, there are about 60 members in our class and she runs another 2 or 3 classes. I understand that it's not a money tree for consultants and they have to fork out for a lot of stuff but as you say, we pay a small amount for drinks if we want them and as far as i was concerned the raffle was self-funding. There have also only been 2 target members in our class who have got badges and there has been no mention of magnets. I don't want to sound like a moaner all the time as I know it could be difficult not to be out of pocket but the raffle thing and the mini lecture that followed by our consultant did annoy me!
re. periods- I read that with dread as I'm on my last month's pill before giving it a break for 6 months to a year then thinking about TTC. Been on it for 12 years although did have a short break a few years ago and was ok so am hoping for the best this time :undecided
