    Morning all,

    Beanie - well done! :)

Shellie - hope you manage to work something out- let us know how you're getting on

Stef - well done on your buffet restraint- not sure I'd have been able to do that!
Does anyone have a low syn recipe for flavouring a stir-fry? Used a bodged together marinade for beef which was tasty but the meal as a whole was quite bland. We had beef, prawns, lots of veg and noodles with scrambled egg mixed in. We usually use a sachet of Chinese stir-fry sauce from tesco's but thought this might be high in syns. We love stir fry but need some flavour!

We used to use the Blue Dragon sachets and they aren't too bad, on average 5 - 6 per sachet, but we now make our own: what Gok Wan refers to as the holy trinity - garlic, ginger and spring onions - plus chilli (fresh or flakes), soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. OH likes it more than the packets and he is picky about things like that!

WI last night - lost 1lb over 2 weeks, which I'm pleased about as whilst I was sensible I wasn't anywhere 100%. Also means I've passed the 50lb mark :j I know I was lucky so this week is going to be firmly on the straight and narrow!

    Green today:
    B: Weetabix (B), milk (A), banana
    L: Chicken noodle mugshot, pear
T: Pasta bake with loads of veggies, cheese (A & B)
    S: Mullerlight, pitta (6), freddo (5)

Have a good day all :)

Well done on the loses Beanielou and Kjmtidea.

Blodwen - i didn't find it that hard to resist the foods that were available, i think my head is in the right mindset to shift this weight and receiving a compliment from my hubbies Nan yesterday morning really helped lift my spirits. Havent seen her since April and as soon as she clapped eyes on me said she could tell immediately so was walking on air most of the day. The hardest part was knowing my daughter had bought hubby a fresh cream cake and it was sitting in the fridge and a few times almost bowed to the temptation but i climbed into bed and thought sod it i cant be bothered to go back down in the cold and its still safely sitting there now.

    Todays meals are,

b, melon, pineapple and a shape 0% yogurt
l, unsure whether to have some left over ham minestrone soup or another chicken salad.
    T, chana massala and rice.
Think im going to remain light on syns today just so i have a buffer for any hidden nasties in yesterdays meal so may just have a whittards tea before bed.

Have a good day in everyone!

Well done kjm - how much to you have to go to target?

Forgot to say earlier that when I went onto SW online this morning to log my WI I saw the 'lend a hand' thing that was mentioned on here recently. Haven't heard anything about it in class (unless it was mentioned last week when I was away) so was interested to read it- flippin' eck, how patronising! Fair enough, the SW plan is great and has been a godsend to some people who haven't been successful with any other diet but things like "Until we can reach them, American people will not realise there is a way to take control and transform their lives – for good" is just ridiculous. Do they think Americans live in a cave rather than the home of 1001 different diets?! I appreciate the sentiment and yes it is great to want to help people but a marketing ploy thinly disguised under some deeply condescending remarks isn't going to cut it for me I'm afraid!

    Rant over! :)

I buy them regularly as the factory is up here so they sell them in a few butchers near me. I love them, and they do quite a few different flavours however they are expensive- the butchers by me do 4 packs for £10 which is ok but if I had to pay full price + postage I don't think I'd bother. Have you tried the Tesco/Morrisons/WW low fat ones? If you haven't I'd try them (and see if there are any on offer, which they often are) as I think they're just as good and if you only have 2 at a time the syns don't add up too much :)

ETA - Also you could see if you local butcher does any low fat ones and work out if they are syn free if they have the NVs handy
