I have three Brittania Direct Debits set up, only two went out in April, Brittania said yesterday other cancelled maybe by Halifax, Halifax said not cancelled hasn't been claimed by Brittania.

As Brittania regarded it as cancelled had to fill in a new DD form, received all three 5.00 payments on 1 May

All three Santander Direct Debits have gone out automatically.

    Hi all,

I need 2 direct debits set up for my First Direct account, for the £100 intro bonus. I set a Post Office saver up and that was easy.

I then had a Tesco one but they needed someone of a certain ilk to sign a copy of my passport. I had trouble getting this sorted, but eventually did and sent everything off. I received a letter from them saying that the bill I sent was not my address, which was complete rubbish and then sent me the stuff saying "1 from document list A and 1 from document list B" in the same letter. I've given up with them at this point, totally ridiculous.

Therefore, I'm asking which is another easy one to set up? Post Office one seemed like a breeze and I want something just as easy.

    Appreciate the help.

Why do you need 2x DD for your First Direct account?

    Well,

I had a Halifax account and transferred to First Direct for the £100. I took the initiative and transferred all my direct debits over (I never trust a bank's companies switching service, have tried this twice now and both times they've "lost my paperwork" or some such).

Anyway, I phoned first direct and I almost screwed myself out of the £100, because you need to transfer in 2 direct debits, and as I had already moved mine over, I had none on my Halifax account. I even asked if I could transfer some back over and them let their switching service transfer them to which they said no.

I see. Ok, open a santander e-saver then and send off the form to get the DD setup.

Isn't it still 2 DDs or SOs for First Direct? If so, just set up one or two SOs to another account of yours (not the FD one, obviously).

Possibly because they've misread the T&Cs?...which clearly (or not in this case!) state...
Open a 1st Account then transfer your banking using our Easyswitch service (transferring at least two Direct Debits and/or standing orders)

It's such a little, but very important, word so I've made it a little larger for clarity. ;)

So, set up 2 standing orders on the old account (to two of your own accounts or those of friends and family) and get FD to switch these. :D

ive recently opened Post Office online saver 10 account and set up one DD from my halifax reward. all seem good. But im trying to set up another one to go from my HSBC, i put another nominee account (HSBS) and i still cant set up a DD. Apparently after setting up a new nominee account there is a 5 working days window, before i can transfer/set up another DD with it.
Is it correct? i was thinking to set up a DD fo the end of the month anyway, but it doesnt let me to choose new account, means i have to wait 5 working days, and then another 9 after setting it up! gosh
