I could not face opening an account with Santander to take advantage of the DD facility, although I am slightly regretting this now with all the hassle of finding new DDs for 6 Halifax accounts.
I no longer had an account with Principality but was able to set up a new account online easily and immediately.
Different story with Britannia. Clunky application form online, and the form then needed to be printed and posted off to them. The savings account is administered by CoOp Bank, so not too surprising I suppose.0 -
Yes you can set up regular payments on Tesco so all sorted! Well nearly - now got to figure out which of the many addresses i have for Santander to send the DD forms to ....0

It was possible until fairly recently, but no longer.
ok please can someone explain to me a bit more about DDs required to open santanders 123 current account. I actually need this account to get their 3% ISA fixed for 2 years, but i dont have any more DD avaiable.
Ive got current account with halifax and ive got 2 DDs form it and it gives me 60£ per year.
Also ive got a few different saving accounts with halifax, so can i arrange to pay DD every month from santander 123 accont to my two saving account in halifax, which will give me 2 reqiured DDs, and call it a day!! So i will be eligible for a interest and etc.

Your question appears to be about the 123 current account requirements which are answered on the 123 pages and the 123 T&Cs which you can find on the Santander website. http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/Satellite?appID=abbey.internet.Abbeycom&c=Page&canal=CABBEYCOM&cid=1237892266671&empr=Abbeycom&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_ViewSelector
This thread is about savings accounts that can be funded by Direct Debit.
Please keep this thread clean of current account requirements.0 -

well they shouldn't have because it just creates chaos if people don't stick to the subject of the thread. Sorry if you feel picked on.0 -
